I loved seeing the "/Deluxe" after Mario Bros, since that's how I put it on my list xD I wonder how many others specified that version

I did. I got into games too late to have an NES, so my exposure to Super Mario Bros was through the GBC version.

Same here. The game was great, with the ability to save being the best feature.

The Boo races and Yoshi Egg hunts were great fun as well.

You vs Boo!

I remember beating the "Luigi Mode" when I was about 8 xD I don't think I'd even be able to do that now

Bioshock managed No. 18?! And top for PC and 360?! Considering the sheer number of great games on PC that's really quite shocking.

Not many PC gamers on the website or maybe just didn't participate. I voted Bioshock (PS3) but i think they all get bumped together. In a way Resident Evil 4 could be the highest rated PC game as it was available on PC. So it could be FF7 but than there would be overlap with GC and PSX.

Thanks for all of the hard work you've put into this.

I am surprised by the lack of love for Ratchet & Clank, especially R&C3
Could I know where that would land?

On the other hand, I am very pleased by Warcraft 3's showing. I expected it to barely scrape the top 250 if it got in at all.

The highest ranked game in that top 250 that appears in my list is Link to the Past, which is 5th on VGC and 18th on my list.

My top ten again:

1)      1) Shadow of the Colossus 29th, not bad at all.

2)      2) God of War II 112th, and I'm disappointed that it's the lowest rated GoW

3)      3) The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim 33rd, very well done

4)      4) Mass Effect 2 22nd, very well done

5)      5) BioShock 18th, whoa

6)      6) Portal 2 24th, nice.

7)      7) Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal NOT RANKED WHAT IS GOING ON

8)      8) Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory NOT RANKED WHAT IS GOING ON

9)      9) Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos 44th, pleasantly surprising

10)   10) Uncharted 2: Among Thieves 19th, nice.

I voted BioShock my top 360 game, but I agree that a few PC games could have slipped above it. StarCraft, Half-Life 2, and Deus Ex especially.

I have never gotten what the meaning of the adventure genre is? Is it like a light-novel type of game, since that is what heavy rain represents and I have also seen Ace Attorney and Layton within that genre.

Heavy rain is not really an adventure game, more like a sub-genre interactive movie like The walking dead.

An adventure game is a video game in which the player assumes the role of protagonist in an interactive story driven by exploration and puzzle-solving instead of physical challenge.

The exploration is the part where games like Heavy rain and The walking dead deviate, and puzzle solving usually plays a much bigger part in adventure games. Monkey island series, Myst/Riven series, Grim fandango, and more recently Machinarium are classic adventure games.

It's a hybrid I guess with 70% interactive story, 15% exploration, 15% puzzle solving.
Ace attorney and Layton are considered more to be of the puzzle sub-genre.
They are as far apart as Call of Duty and Borderlands when it comes to fps.

Very good games on the list, but also some serious games that are missing and some are criminally too low. PC is especially under-represented, not that it's surprising given that this website is pretty damn console focused and has always been that way.

Is Ocarina really that good or is it one of those snowball phenomenons where it gets mentioned a lot as the best game of all time and then everyone lets that influence their own decision, which leads to more people mentioning it and after a few years it's just set in stone? Sort of like Shawshank Redemption on IMDB I guess.

It seems like that. But a ton of people really, truthfully seem to like OoT.
