The Wii U is doing bad in Europe so that means is doing bad in all regions /Nintendo haters logic

Anyway thanks for the info, pretty good numbers so far.

So its doing good in USA/Japan and that means its doing good in all regions? Is that the Nintendo fans logic?

This goes both ways dude.

WiiU - Good supply, fair price

Wii - Limited supply, affordable

PS3 - Good supply, $600)

X360 - Limited supply, expensive

These are factors that need to be looked at as well before considering the launch a success a failure or a success.

That is right, but it was the decision of Sony to launch at $600 and supply-constraints can also be avoided by producing a lot in before. That are all factors that play into the sales, but the sales in the end are the deciding factor if a launch was good or bad. If you apply your logic, you could say: Wii had no HD, that lowered sales, and PS3 had a Blu-Ray, without that extra value it would have sold even less.

Nice. But we are gonna get the full pic after the holidays are over. But is a good launch overall.... No matter what other people say; everyone can find excuses.

Plus it already has million sellers right? And i think i read somewhere that. Ita hasnt reach that milestone.... Am i right or wrong?

Well if we look at the european sales of other home consoles from Nintendo this is normal that the WiiU had a bad launch in Europe.

Excellent post, sir.

Comparing apples and oranges really.

People always bring up these kind of points but honestly I don't see the relevance other than for fanboy bragging rights.  Using price as an excuse for not selling is no better than using lack of games for not selling, those are the factors in play at that time.

If console X sells more than console Y, even if console Y is $200 more expensive, it doesn't matter. Console Y still got beaten, still failed to expand it's user base by as much and failed to improve its attractiveness to third parties.  You can make predictions about what might happen if a particular console dropped in price or actually got good software support but it doesn't change the fact that it got beaten in a particular time frame.

It might bear some more relevance if console X was being sold at a loss to get a head start over console Y but we know that is not the model that Nintendo uses, the Wii U is already close to profitable.

Yeah definitely a successful launch

Although i think they should have put more focus on the gamepad and the new experiences it brings. It feels like Nintendo went more for the hardcore crowd when they really could have gone for the casual as well especially with the unique design and capabilities of the gamepad.

Xbox360 Core (no HDD) = 299 $/€ launch price, faster than most PCs that year = expensive?

Wii U (no HDD) = 299 $/€ launch price, much slower than most PCs this year = fair price?

The Xbox360 was a much better deal in 2005 than the WiiU is now.

Well, the doomtrain for WiiU is starting, but let's look at the facts: the WiiU has overall a pretty good launch.

Come on...thats a bit paranoid. No reasonable posters are saying the WiiU is doomed.
