Forums - Nintendo - How long before first claims of the Wii U Gamepad breaking

How Long Before Wii U Gamepad Complaints Roll In?

Week 1 37 71.15%

Week 2 4 7.69%

Week 3 3 5.77%

1 Month 3 5.77%

Over 1 Month 5 9.62%

Total:52

I could see one being accidentally stepped on or sat on within a week or two. The part most likely to break would be the display in such instances.

I don't see any game pads being flung into TVs or swung into ceiling fans this time around though unless someone is *really* doing it wrong.

So just because stuff breaks it means that rival fanboys are behind it? grow up, devices pass QC in a broken state every day, and people can be pretty dumb with electronics, so yeah, you will hear plenty

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Well you Americans do know how to do strange and weird things and blame it one someone else :)

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Wii U is now released. As we speak the Anti Nintendo propaganda machine are hard at work trying to slow down sales. It seems to be all the rage when Nintendo releases a new console/handheld.

With the Wii it was people throwing their Wiimotes through televisions and smacking people in the head.

With the 3DS it was all about people getting sick from looking at the screen (which has magically stopped all of a sudden).

Im betting day 1 myself, I mean you gotta slow down sales as fast as you can ya' know?

Probably not as quick as paranoid people claiming anything negative is Nintendo hate.

Yep. I was right.

Within 24 hours of the Microsoft Surface launch - two people had managed to run over their Surfaces. And they still worked. How do you let your tablet free to roam in the street?

A gamepad will be sadly loss before the week is out.

Wow I never heard about the hit and runs regarding the Surfaces! Just when my faith in humanity was restored too :(

OT: Yes I agree

"robbbilicious @robbbilicious

@surface My Surface got ran over by a car going 60mph yesterday! I'm tweeting from it right now! INCREDIBLE build quality!"

I hope the first WiiU pad death is not the result of someone leaving it on the couch, and someone else sitting on it.  But I think this will be most likely.  Should we make a poll?  The first WiiU gamepad will die from:

A) Being Sat upon

B) Dropped on a hard floor.

C) Siblings fighting over it.

D) Little Sibling thinking it's diry and putting it in the dishwasher,

E) Other - add yours.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

What I want to know is how many losers are binge playing their WiiUs wrapped in tin foil with a "WiiU overheats" 'article' ready to go on their computer.

Yea! seems inconceivable that a person flinging a remote around might let it slip and break a t.v, or someone feeling ill or having headaches from looking at an object that can strain the eyes. AND that the Wii U might actually break down 0_o.

Cant...detect....sarcasm.....

Common dude. Lets get to reality here. Maybe a handfull of these cases are believable. But they were out of control claims. Im talking thousands. As far as I can tell Nintendo warned against all of these things. It's not about IF things can happen. ANYTHING can happen. It's a propaganda tool....simple as that.

So are you saying that Nintendo ships crazy glue with Wii now? Or 3DS is shipped with a bottle of Pepto? Where are all these claims now ? Or was it all exaggerated to shine a bad light on Nintendo.

With 90 million Wii's out there you think only a handful of people actually flung their controller at the wall or t.v? I can gaurantee you it's more common than you might think it is. Some due to the user's stupidity and others do to fauly straps etc.

Also, while I know people who can play the 3DS for hours with no problems. I can't play it with the 3D on for more than a few minutes. These things happen. Just like some people's Wii U will break within the first week or month.

I can't play with 3d on at all. the two images really don't merge as one and I basically just see double... unless its slightly on but then it doesn't pop like 3d.

Any thats with my limited experience with a demo at target maybe other games would be different and thats not why I posted.

I've actually seen a nunchuck thrown through plastic blinds and breaking them and my friends house. there was drinking involved.

But ive also accidently hit someone swinging backwards (not hard though) and not realizing they were there at my house. AND also at my house I've seen the nunchuck slip numerous times but lucky enough non breakage. by different people too.

Honestly there is nothing that puzzles me more than pre-emptive trolling by a fanbase towards itself.
