It's a sexual turn-on for me when I see Sony or Nintys share price fall. Even thinking about it is making me aroused... *sets pillow on lap to hide erection*

I have openly stated my feelings against Sony, but not for the reasons most assume. Simply put, I cant stand PS3 fan fanatics. Every multiconsole forum on the internet is rife with near religious reverence to Sony/PS3, despite what real world statistics/numbers tell us.

So when Sony makes a mistake, it brings me pleasure not that the company is failing, but it puts those fanatics in their place. That their snappy comebacks and Xbox venom get brought up short when Sony closes a studio or posts a quarterly loss.

"If" Sony goes the Sega route in gaming, which I myself very much doubt, I always wonder what those Sony fanatics will say then. Where will be the RROD, Xbot, 360 has no exclusives smugness then? The internet will be a much better place. But for now, I am content with the day or two of their silence that gets bought when bad Sony news comes out.

But to answer your question, it brings me pleasure in general when cocky and smug people get whats coming to them. It helps me with the satisfaction that the gaming internet will be a better place for the rest of gamers.

Wow.  I say this without anger, and without intent to insult, but you should find a mirror.  You just described yourself, only with a different brand.

Reading dogma like this gives me chills, and makes me even MORE determined not to be fanatical about a piece of electronics, and most of all, to not be spiteful about something so incredibly petty.  I'm glad I read this.

Nope.

While X-box never has really done much for me... (Culdcept saga is fun...  that's all i can think of that wasn't also on PS3.) They're more like a plucky underdog then anything.

Feeling good about them when they are doing bad is sorta like laughing at the kid who gets picked on at school because he's small for his size.

Plus i mean... that's just more games in the longrun being made... and I own all three consoles.

I just want some excitement in hardware-land.

I feel it's been too long since one of 'em bit the dust, or since there was a newcomer. I don't care who goes, who comes and who gets resurrected, I just want want action! 'Cause it makes for a more interesting history lesson, imagine if in real history no country ever got conquered, rose or fell? Would have been pretty boring.

As long as Nintendo remains for all eternity though .

Jay.... I mean c'mon...

Look at this F-ing annoying PS Fanboy. (Allen)

Ive been visiting this site since it began and Ive always seen this guy post in profanity and hatred. I think I do have a misdirection of disliking. To be honest I dislike Sony B/c of my hatred of their fanboys. But really I think Sony can serve as a really good competitor but their fans are just... abusive.

Yay!!!

It's funny. During the PS1 & 2 era I didn't know any different - I bought Sony consoles, knew they were the bigger brand, but always assumed that Xbox / Gamecube were doing comparatively well. And I never really wished any ill-meaning on them, which persisted through this generation until I joined this forum. I knew that console wars existed, fans wailed on each other and all that, and that PS3 wasn't selling as well as the PS1 & 2 had, but I wasn't aware of the extent of hate towards Sony and I still didn't harbour any bad feelings towards the other two either at this point.

So it was a bit of a shock to come to a forum like this in 2012 and see all these people (I won't get into specifics) who took every opportunity they had to call Sony out, make them look bad and call out the fans for liking Sony. Like really, it was a massive shock to me. And that, in turn, made me feel a little more contemptible towards the competition than I ever did before coming here.

Of course, the people who were acting like this towards Sony claimed that they'd been victims of it first, that Sony fans were the arrogant ones who were always wailing on their system. And I'm sure that's absolutely true. But from my side, I'd never really seen any of this. I could believe it, but it came across to me as just hate for the sake of hate from the way I was seeing it. And that did nothing to make me like the competition.  Just because someone else has done it - that doesn't make it okay.

At the end of the day, I took a step back and looked at it logically. Nintendo have done nothing wrong; Microsoft have done nothing wrong. The fans are different from the company themselves, and it would be stupid to hate a company because of the fans. They don't choose their fans - influence them perhaps, maybe even attract them, but at the end of the day anyone can 'choose' to be a fan of anything and then act however they see fit.

I'm conflicted. I don't hate Microsoft or Nintendo, and I don't hate Microsoft or Nintendo fans. I have my hangups with both of the companies, but that's a different matter. But I do inevitably grow to generalise and dislike fans of the other two companies a little when certain ones act in certain ways to just have a completely unreasonable and irrational hatred of Sony, who I love.. I'm sure fans of M & N would say that certain Sony fans act exactly the same way, which I'm sure would be true as well.

this is basically my life in a nutshell

its weird lol this pretty much summarises how i felt when i joined too

and tbh i would've remained oblivious to all these things if my original ps3 didn't break almost 2 years ago...

at that time i started checking out info on games more and more online and i eventually ended up joining this site
