Forums - Nintendo - EA sent ME3 on Wii U to die.

It may escape all the adults here.........but Nintendos main userbase is children.

Many parents only buy their children Nintendo consoles only.

What difference does having multiple audiences make? Nintendo has always had the sell of parents who buy consoles for their children as an audience. If they didn't then i would have never gotten into  gaming.

I don't get where people come from trying to pass this off as this "new" unique casual audience. All original and tradiaiton gamers were children originially. Now they get talked down about like some newfound gaming abnormality called "casuals". They are the oldest kind of gamer, not the newest.

Nintendo audience is, at least from their goals, is "everyone". They want something for every type of gamer on their console. They need to start making with the RPGS though.

On topic: I said this long ago about EA back when that one dude from EA said straight up that they were just going to use the Wii U to demo games and then bring them to smartglass if they suceed. Everyone seems to have forgotten this. They are giving us "last years" Madden Engine and a game that is a critical failure.

One thing you can be certain of is that EA is not in favor of Nintendo and does not care about their userbase, and yes I'm saying they are doing this in spite what profit the console can bring them.

Electronic Arts announced Mass Effect Trilogy — a collection of the three Mass Effect titles — for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. This would have been perfect for the Wii U as many Nintendo gamers have not played the series. But unfortunately, Trilogy is not coming to the Wii U.

Why?

According to a long-time user of NeoGAF:

EA did not expect Wii U owners to buy Mass Effect, anyway, so no point in porting over three games. If ME3 sells gangbusters, they’ll consider it a proper summer home for Mass Effect.

And this leaves me feeling conflicted. I want Trilogy to arrive on the Wii U, but I also don’t want Electronic Arts to hold games hostage like this. It’s just lousy all-around.

So there you have it. They are intentionally setting up a scenario where they will only allocate their support based on 1 game and they are making it is a bad game that was poorly received even on the platforms that had a userbase for it with no real improvements. They want the game to fail to give them a valid exsuse for why they aren't supporting the Wii U. This is something gaming journalist need to be reporting on.

Why can't the gaming journalism world focus their disparaging on things that actually earn it? If a new negative rumor came out about Nintendo righ tnow, I bet you every game news site on the internet would haver a story on it in less than an hour, but horrid mistreatments of fans and schemes by a monopolistic, long running, gaming company?-"eh, who cares"

EA sucks. End of story.

Children are part of the Nintendo userbase, but not the main userbase. Nintendo console are found in all age groups, from children to teens and adults. Because Nintendo consoles always have games for all.

The main userbase of PS3&Xbox360 are male teenagers, that is a fact. I don't know if Mass Effect is famous among this group.

Was trying to look up recent demographic info to see if you were actually saying facts and not just stuff you made up based on your experience.  Do you have a source?

...

Well, and them they complain about things like this

"Long-time user"s of NeoGAF do not qualify as insider sources at EA unless they are actually insider sources at EA, so that quote holds no water

you're looking way too much into this

And you're not looking into this at all. You just assume that EA wouldn't do something that doesn't appear to directly benefit them.

Imagine a court case where a man is accused of stealing money from his parents. The prosecution spends loads of time going over his motive, explaining that the son was a drug addict and was ostracized by his parents long ago. While the jury is in deliberation, one of the jurors refuses to accept that the man is guilty, saying, "Why would he steal from his own parents? It doesn't make any sense! Why wouldn't he just ask them for money?"

That's you. You're a juror who isn't paying any attention to the evidence or the motive. The accusation simly doesn't make sense to you. Any attempt to explain the situation is dismissed as a "conspiracy theory."

Unless you have any actual evidence of "wrong doing" on EA's part then it is nothing but conspiracy theroy, that what conspiracy theory is.

Conspiracy theory or not, you've got to admit it is a major bonehead move on EA's part.

If EA does not profit, how they can still be a top dog?

I really don't get that, honestly. It's like investors are sitting in a campfire trowing money on it.

Releasing ME3 on Wii U two weeks after ME Trilogy on 360 at the same price isn't "wrong doing?"

Not putting in the effort to make sure the Wii U versions of Madden and FIFA are on par with the PS360 versions even though they have three extra months to work on the game isn't "wrong doing?"

Refusing to publish games on Dreamcast out of spite simply because Sega wouldn't hand EA a sports game monopoly isn't "wrong doing?"

Rereleasing FIFA12 with updated rosters and nothing else and calling it FIFA13 isn't "wrong doing?"

Stripping down their 3DS handegg game, releasing it almost a full year late during the off-season at full price with half the features of the console version, then neglecting to release further iterations of the franchise on 3DS, resulting in NO further NFL games on the console due to their exclusivity, isn't "wrong doing?"

You sure have a curious definition of "wrong."

There's plenty more but I don't have time right now.
