To make it a launch title, perhaps?

Why would they absolutly want that? Why release Madden 2011 in March instead of waiting and launch a better Madden 2012 in August? I'm not even sure if they did make a madden 2012 on the system. If they did'nt, that clearly prooves that they did Madden 2011 just to watch it fail and never planned on making a 2012 in the first place no matter how good or bad were the sales (but the knew they would be terrible) cause otherwise, if they planned on making other games, they had to have already started developement if they wanted to launch a other madden alongside the other versions in 2012.

Launching a better version would also mean making a greater bet. And as we know the 3DS did end up selling poorly. The extra sales would not have covered up for the costs of the additional efforts.

In the end though, all that matters is that EA is running their business the best they can to maximize profits. No company would ever turn down potential profits unless the risk of losing was too great. If EA felt that putting lots of efforts into a Madden title would result in the highest amount of profit, they would have done just that.

Lack of competition. Nintendo obviously wanted to make room for third parties which is why Nintendogs, Steel Diver and Pilotwings was pretty much all they had to offer. And after all, following the DS's massive success both EA and Nintendo expected higher sales for the 3DS. A huge launch would mean huge software sales.

They expected some easy cash by developing a sub-par title selling purely on brand name, and they got it.

EA is the exclusive holder of the NFL license. Their football games never have competition.

If they were after easy cash based on brand name, then why aren't they making Madden NFL for the 3DS anymore?

Lower 3DS sales than expected is one possibility. If you think they won't release Madden NFL for the 3DS for no reason, then you are wrong. Hating Nintendo just for the hell of it won't make them money.

Let me ask you this: Why do you think they won't release Madden for the 3DS? Because the 3DS and/or Nintendo is too casual for their taste? Because they don't want more money than they can handle?

Not porting Madden 2011 would have resulted in mass accusations of EA hating Nintendo. At least this way, they can ... oh.

but ME2 for PS3 is a good example. I guess EA must hate Sony as well??

It is NOT a good example, unless EA released a compilation of ME1 and ME2, a few weeks before for the same price. The complain is not because EA is releasing ME3 for Wii U at full price (that I don't think is the right price anyway), but because they sent the game to die as they are ALSO releasing 3 full games of the same franchise in an special box, a few weeks early for the SAME price.

The conspiracy theory appears because they had no good reason to just delay the trilogy (to release the 360 and PS3 versions at same time on a later date), offer ME3 for Wii U at a lower price or the trilogy at a higher one, people is trying to give sense to the decision and the 'conspiracy' is as good as 'this guys are just idiots!', I will say that is even more fun.

What will really tell us if EA has something against Nintendo, is if Bioware are themselves working on the PS3 port of 1 while ME3 on Wii U was left to Tarantula/Straight Right.

It is irrelevant because the trilogy is being released on a DIFFERENT system than Wii U. Had the trilogy been announced for Wii U then we could say ME3 was absoluetlly sent to die. The argument that people would opt to buy the trilogy instead of ME3 for Wii U makes no sense, because if they had any intention of buying the WIi U version of ME3 one would have to assume that they are doing so because they dont have access to the other platforms that had all the games on them in the first place.

So they should screw the PS360/PC owners with a higher price...for what?? They wont do that cause they know it wont sell they are trying to make money. PS3 versions is at least being released later and really it doenst matter when the 360/PC version of the trilogy will be released as the trilogy itself has been available for some time. Yeah they should have sold Wii U version for cheaper, just like they should have done with ME2 for PS3. But here we are

Want another proof about EA hating Nintendo?

FIFA 13 just released for the 3DS, the same game released last year with no improvement whatsoever over the already lazy PSP port we got last year, with NO ONLINE (PES already got online last year), with an ugly photoshoped cover and for 50 EUROS!!!!!
ITS THE LAZIEST EFFORT EVER AND ITS THE MOST EXPENSIVE 3DS GAME!!!!

Seriously EA, stop it, plz, its time to stop....

On the other hand Konami releases its PES2013 at 30 euros, with online mode and added touch controls (even if they arent very good, theyve tried)

I don't see how the trilogy being released on a different version have anything to do with it. It is released on a different system, but it is on a system that have a way bigger user base. ME trilogy is still competition to ME3 on Wii U.

Why?? The people who would be buying the trilogy would likely not have bought the Wii U version anyway, hell the Wii U isnt even out yet.

I'll put it a different way, if you were a PS360 and or PC version, why would you be buying ME3 for WIi U anyway? If you were a fan would you not have already got the game? Let's forget the trilogy was even announced, ME3 Wii U had alot going against it anyway.
