Forums - Nintendo - EA sent ME3 on Wii U to die.

I bet they'll port the trilogy to WiiU, but only after everyone buys ME3 first.

This. If they didn't believe it would sell it wouldn't be on there in the first place. Ignore wii u getting mass effect 3 and you'll see this whole trilogy is just a way to milk the game. I doubt mass effect 1 will have much (if any) effort put into it and will likely compare worse to the later games that were built to the strengths of ps3.

Truthfully mass effect 3 on wii u and the trilogy as a whole is just one last cash grab before moving on. Lets face it, even with mass effect 3 on wii u who will really care about the game as a whole on wii u or ps3? I care and will buy it but how many really will? The time when this would have had a much bigger impact has passed by and on all systems but 360 I think its too late to make any big impact on any side. This is all just ea making cash grabs for the series from as many platforms as possible.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the mass effect trilogy on 360 sold more than the trilogy on ps3 and mass effect 3 wii u combined. Still I'll be getting this on wii u regardless. I hope others will be joining me.

One more thing to complete my year = senran kagura localization =D

I already own all 3 games on 360, but I'd have bought the trilogy on the WiiU for the added content (haven't bought any DLC for any title since the concept of DLC became popular. Except Rock Band songs.)

I've been mulling over that Dreamcast interview and an interesting thought occurred to me. Maybe this isn't about Origin. Maybe it's much simpler than that. EA demanded that Sega not allow any non-EA sports games to be published on Dreamcast to eliminate all competition for their own franchises; when Sega refused, EA refused to publish any games at all on Dreamcast.

What if EA made a similar demand of Nintendo? What if they said.... no Call of Duty on Wii U? This would effectively eliminate competition with EA's Battlefield series. Consider that Battlefield 3 for Wii U was cancelled... I didn't think anything of it at the time, but it's possible...

Of course, EA still says Battlefield 4 will be on Wii U, and they obviously haven't stopped publishing games on the console entirely. But SOMETHING must have happened, and from prior moves made by EA, this is possible.

I certainly wouldn't put it below them to do so.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Here's another interesting piece of EA history.

I doubt it, they would need to be seriously dilusional to think that ANYONE would accept. Even EA can't be that bold to ask such a thing.

I could care less about all this controversy about EA, even though I agree that this decision was a very foolish one.

you're looking way too much into this, how much of a chance did the game REALLY have? Really? How well did you think it would have sold prior to the knowledge of the trilogy? Buying ME3 for Wii U was never worth 60 dollars, period. I dont know how anyone in their right mind could have ever thought that the pricing was far. How well do late ports of games sell at full price most of the time? ME3 for Wii U is a game that simply doesnt make a alot of sense, trilogy or not, if you were a fan of  the series you most likely would have bought that game, and even if you hadnt bought it already one would most likely not get that version as it woudl be the most expensive anyway and not really adding that much to the experience.

You never answered my question about Ninty only owners. If they only have a Wii U why would the trilogy being released on a systems they dont even have deter them from getting ME3 on Wii U? Or do you believe that most of the people that were going to buy it are now not going to out of...principle??? I doubt.

What reason do EA have for not releasing the trilogy on Wii U other than having some kind of agenda?

You've been very vocal in the past about how the Wii just couldn't run versions of multiplatform games so it didn't get them, but we know that isn't the issue this time because the Wii U is already running the most recent game in the trilogy.

Disc space/cartridge space is an excuse you've fallen back on to excuse past behaviour in the GC/N64 days, but that isn't a problem now either with the 25GB Wii U discs.

We also have that tweet saying the trilogy is for "new players", and you're saying that ME3 on Wii U would only be for people who haven't experienced the series before (so... new players), put those two concepts together and you have even more reason to put it on Wii U.

So go on, what magical new excuse are you going to think up now, or do we finally listen to Occam's razor...

Has it been confirmed by them that there will be NO trilogy for Wii U?? Not sure why your bringing up the limitations of Wii/GC/N64 nothing to do with Wii U.

I never said it shouldnt be on Wii U, dont know where anyone is getting that idea, i said it should be on Wii U. If you actually read my posts you wouldnt see any excuses cause i gave none.

My only gripe is the people who are saying it was sent out to die just because another platform is getting a trilogy. The idea of ME3 on WIi U was foolish before and it is still foolish after the trilogy announcement.

Unless you have any actual evidence of "wrong doing" on EA's part then it is nothing but conspiracy theroy, that what conspiracy theory is.

Releasing ME3 on Wii U two weeks after ME Trilogy on 360 at the same price isn't "wrong doing?"

Not putting in the effort to make sure the Wii U versions of Madden and FIFA are on par with the PS360 versions even though they have three extra months to work on the game isn't "wrong doing?"

Refusing to publish games on Dreamcast out of spite simply because Sega wouldn't hand EA a sports game monopoly isn't "wrong doing?"

Rereleasing FIFA12 with updated rosters and nothing else and calling it FIFA13 isn't "wrong doing?"

Stripping down their 3DS handegg game, releasing it almost a full year late during the off-season at full price with half the features of the console version, then neglecting to release further iterations of the franchise on 3DS, resulting in NO further NFL games on the console due to their exclusivity, isn't "wrong doing?"

You sure have a curious definition of "wrong."

There's plenty more but I don't have time right now.

Can we stick to the subject of ME3 cause that is the only thing im talking about here, those others have nothing to do with the subject at hand. And no releasing ME3 on Wii U for the same price as the trilogy on 360 is not "wrong", its there product they can do what they want. Its stupid, foolish and crazy and pure greedy, but not wrong.

EA was probably already making the trilogy for PS360 before they got their hands on the Wii U dev kits. Either that or they figured it might be too much effort to port 3 games to Wii U without knowing how much success it might get, so they just decided to do ME3 first to feel it out.

EA should never have even tried to release ME on Wii U. Sequels of Games (real sequels, not like Final Fantasy) should finish on the brand(s) they started on.
