I've been mulling over that Dreamcast interview and an interesting thought occurred to me. Maybe this isn't about Origin. Maybe it's much simpler than that. EA demanded that Sega not allow any non-EA sports games to be published on Dreamcast to eliminate all competition for their own franchises; when Sega refused, EA refused to publish any games at all on Dreamcast.
What if EA made a similar demand of Nintendo? What if they said.... no Call of Duty on Wii U? This would effectively eliminate competition with EA's Battlefield series. Consider that Battlefield 3 for Wii U was cancelled... I didn't think anything of it at the time, but it's possible...
Of course, EA still says Battlefield 4 will be on Wii U, and they obviously haven't stopped publishing games on the console entirely. But SOMETHING must have happened, and from prior moves made by EA, this is possible.
