Electronic Arts announced Mass Effect Trilogy — a collection of the three Mass Effect titles — for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. This would have been perfect for the Wii U as many Nintendo gamers have not played the series. But unfortunately, Trilogy is not coming to the Wii U.

Why?

According to a long-time user of NeoGAF:

EA did not expect Wii U owners to buy Mass Effect, anyway, so no point in porting over three games. If ME3 sells gangbusters, they’ll consider it a proper summer home for Mass Effect.

And this leaves me feeling conflicted. I want Trilogy to arrive on the Wii U, but I also don’t want Electronic Arts to hold games hostage like this. It’s just lousy all-around.

So there you have it. They are intentionally setting up a scenario where they will only allocate their support based on 1 game and they are making it is a bad game that was poorly received even on the platforms that had a userbase for it with no real improvements. They want the game to fail to give them a valid exsuse for why they aren't supporting the Wii U. This is something gaming journalist need to be reporting on.

Why can't the gaming journalism world focus their disparaging on things that actually earn it? If a new negative rumor came out about Nintendo righ tnow, I bet you every game news site on the internet would haver a story on it in less than an hour, but horrid mistreatments of fans and schemes by a monopolistic, long running, gaming company?-"eh, who cares"
