Now that Brett has mostly finished working on Gamewise, it would be nice if we could get a touch-up for this site. And by touch-up, I mean stripping away all the crap and rebuilding the legitimacy of the site through a legitimate staff and promotion of our content. We used to have several articles that garnered over 200k views. That brought in a significant amount of traffic.

I could go into another rant but I know that Brett will never do anything so I'm not going to bother.

Not really, no. We had one article, a victim of some pretty suspicious hit spamming, that hit 200,000. I grant you that a few others managed to cross 100,000, notably those involving sex in some form.

It will be difficult to rebuild VGC's article section. The news all really went to gamrFeed, which collapsed, and gamrReview, now fully distinct from VGC, though as an "employee" of both I would welcome greater integration. Indeed, I think all three of our sites should be interlinked, but I seem to be outnumbered here.

I can remember two distinctly (the booth babes one and the Upcoming 360 Games article), and I'm pretty sure there were a couple others. Point is, they weren't all written by the same person and they got views. Our best writers and reviewers were drawn from the community. People like Spdk1, Rubang, Naznatips, Machina, and Torillian. The different sections of the site should just be merged into one again, preferably with only one CSS file for the various pages (so it doesn't feel like I'm browsing four different poorly designed sites).

It's worth noting that Naz, Machina and Torillian all still work for gamrReview in senior positions, and Machina and Naz work for Gamewise as well.

I really don't see a joining of what is now three completely distinct sites taking place. Gamewise is definitely going to remain independent, and if gamrReview integrates with anything, it will be Gamewise.

Is there no way to view "Articles" by order of views/writer anymore? I know even I had a fair few over 10k views. One I remember quite well was the MW2 Perks.

http://www.vgchartz.com/article/5755/modern-warfare-2-full-perk-list-and-details/

Over 50k views and its the 3rd option on Google

http://www.vgchartz.com/article/4867/gran-turismo-5-gameplay-video-revealed/
http://www.vgchartz.com/article/5913/zelda-wii-new-info-e3-2010-reveal/
http://www.vgchartz.com/article/6352/most-pirated-games-of-2009-pc-360-and-wii/
http://www.vgchartz.com/article/5691/gta-episodes-from-liberty-city-manual-hints-next-gta-location/ (Almost 60k!)

There are more, but you get the idea

I prefer where we are, was a bit creepy to strike it out as an independent site but now I can know that the articles we write do as well as they do not just because we're connected to a relatively big internet name like vgchartz.  Feels more like something Craig and I run than a little offshoot of something Brett runs.  So while I understand the desire to have less sites to scroll through, I would rather we stay separate since we made it past the initial rebranding annoyance.

Ok, I'm fairly new here so I don't really know what gamrReview and gameWise is... mind explaining? Review I kinda get (the name really says it all). But I don't understand why it's not a part of THIS site? People interested in sales surely most be interested in reviews as well? You should at the very least have links here to reviews. I mean, just look at how developers are treating sales and review scores; if a game hits a certain score on gamerankings/metacritics the staff gets a bonus (or whatever). It seems like, for them: score=money.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Unban Spurge. There was no link to ROMs in his post and there's no rule against talking about emulators...

Any competent moderator would remove the links to the ROMs before swinging the banhammer.

This. I'm pretty sure amp removed the links

What does the link that says ROM link to?

Well...fuck. Stealth links. Damn it, spurge, you're on your own!

See, I left them in there and everything.

Also, showing how to play games for free is against the rules.  It's rule 12, I believe.  I plan on erasing the entire post when he's unbanned but left it unerased for now so if my higher ups want to review it that they can.

I think Spurge wanted to get banned for whatever reason.

Rule 12 only mentions links or requests for free games. His post had a link, so I'm not complaining, but I don't think he should've been banned if his post didn't contain links to ROMS. I mean, then you'd have to ban everyone talking about pirated PC games on this site as well

Well, I'm not saying anything like that, but leaving an exhaustive step by step instruction manual of how to pirate is a little different then just saying that you pirate games, don't you think?
