True, but those legs are mostly going to belong to new games, so the Vita's total won't go up by as much, whereas each NSMB2 sale contributes directly to its bottom line. Plus, Mario sells forever. They're still shipping new copies of Mario 64 DS.

Most definitely. I just picked 64 DS because it's older and has not sold as much. Plus it's a port of a 1996 game. If THAT has such beastly legs...

LBP entered the top 10 this week, and Mario seems to be two weeks away from being the third best selling 3DS game.

This is not even fair tbh, we are look at Mario on a currently 20 million install base hardware vs a 3 million install base hardware with mostly no world wide known franchise to the general public, Vita is going to get raped just by looking at the install base alone even if you add the top 10 games together for a long while unless it picks up over the holidays which I seriously doubt would make too much difference in numbers of Vita that will be out there by new years.

Japan is getting a NSMB2 bundle in Japan in November. The 3ds is going to cut the Vita a new a-hole this holiday season. The meltdowns won't be pretty.

Thanks to Nintendo's latest numbers, we now know that NSMB 2 is at 3.25 million worldwide including digital. I'm sure someone can link it up for me.

The only Vita game that can compete with NSMB2 is LittleBigPlanet PS Vita. You know I'm really getting sick of the names; LittleBigPlanet, LittleBigPlanet, LittleBigPlanet 2, LittleBigPlanet PS Vita... What a mess.

Little Deviants' sales of .19 million should be counted for the Vita top 10. The game was only released in Japan as a digital download so all of its physical sales are from this year.

This thread needs to live.

 

Going by Vitas Top 10 on this site (including Uncharted etc.) the score is 3.0 million for NSMB2 and 2.93 million for the PSV top 10.

 

I also find it quite remarkable that europe sells the most 3DS consoles right now but has the fewest NSMB2 and Pokemon sales. What the heck are the people over here doing with this thing?
