Forums - Sales - NSMB2 vs the Vita Top 10

Did ioi already adjust NSMB2 numbers in the US ?
Even then it still has a comfortable margin over the Vita top 10.

Which way adjusted? Up or down?

I think Vita can overtake Mario in the holidays. LBPV, Persona, NfS, AC:L and BlOps:DC are all pretty much guaranteed to move into the top 10. On the other hand, NSMB2's potential holiday boost could be smaller than expected due to NSMBU. I guess we'll see how it works out, I could see it going either way....

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

It pulled it off already? I Hadn't noticed.

Great thread btw.

By the way, everytime I see the thread title I am reminded of this movie:

That picture should go into the OP imho :D

Are you counting DD as well?

Some time down the round Vita has got to catch up to NSMB2; maybe not over take it, but the gap should b closing eventually :P

I'm only counting retail, but considering how both Mario and these Vita games are both retail and downloadable, I think it's fair.

I should hope so! I'd hate for the next two months to be one-sided.

Mario will win the holiday sales too, count on that.

Even CoD, AC and LBP's holiday won't stop Mario. Realistically, I don't think Vita's top 10 will ever beat NSMB2's lifetime sales. The only way for this to happen is for Vita sales to seriously become better (I mean, seriously better) and for NSMB2's sales to weaken significantly. Mario is showing some good legs now, Vita's, sadly, aren't.

Personally, I see NSMB2 sell 15m at the minimum and 20m at maximum, considering it probably sells less than the original. That means the top 10 Vita games will all have to sell over 1.5m minimaly. Preferably over 2m. I just don't see it happen. And I'm no pessimist either!

Yes, like weeks ago. It didn't take Mario much effort .

Without looking at the past NPD thread. I think it was about 150k overtracked in September.

well this thread would be a lot more interesting if the vita got some good selling games! as it is now you could just rename this thread to mario (bigger than - sorry, my phone sux to write posts with, ill try to remember to edit this later) vita xD

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Proof that Mario is a beast. To be honest Im surprised that it beat the top 10 Vita titles.

Well if LBP Vita breaks into the top 10 another game will fall out, right? So only the sales that exceed the currently tenth placed game will count towards toppling Mario.

If LittleBigPlanet can't quickly get itself a bit over 100,000 sales, then the Vita would be in more trouble than even I thought. And in case I haven't been clear enough by making this thread, I am not the best cheerleader for the Vita.

It sold near 98.000 worldwide in 03 weeks, but seems to be dropping fast. How bad is that ?

Pretty bad for the VIta, but not catastrophic. At very least, LBP will still penetrate the Top 10 in a few weeks, and if it legs out, can even reach the top 5. On the other hand, I was hoping that after a couple of weeks it would already be on the list, and would easily reach the top 5.
