If Sony really cuts the price again, even though SCE lost 1.2 billion and the whole company 6 billion last year, I will just laugh. I mean it doesn't matter to anyboydy who sold 66.7 and who sold 66.8 million. 3rd paty support will be a given this late into the generation.

Sony NEEDS the money. Why not redesign the console without a picecut like MS did in 2010 and start to actually make some money? What is wrong with Sony that they are willing to lose soooo much money (and they are already in a not-healthy position) just to get to 2nd place?

The PS3 all together has been a giant fuck up on Sony's part.

Id imagine theyll be profiting quite a bit with the new model. Its tiny and looks fairly cheap tbh. With a 16GB model they really cant keep prices the same. It has to be introduced at a low price point. With that, you just can't keep the other models way higher like they already are.

I doubt that Play Station will hit the 1 million gap, i mean, I think where Microsoft is right know they only let that happen if they want. They can afford to price cut their Xbox as low as 149~199 or less, last holiday Xbox 360 250 GB was sold for 219 € in all stores of my country and Xbox 360 4 GB for 149 €.

I think if microsoft really wants to stay in front of Playstation till the end they can manage it, it's just a matter of if they want or not.

I meant let's hope the numbers actually stay where they are this time since last time this thread was made it turned out to be pretty big then in the end it was adjusted and the PS3 was still pretty far away from the 2 million gap.

well CoD breaks records each year and sells more copies, now those people who do buy CoD for the first time could buy a system for it, wouldnt they? doesnt that make sense? also i think Halo 4 will move some serious numbers. does anybody remember how much halo reach helped 360 sales back in 2010? 

Guess its the logic vs fanboyism:

Person A (logic): I think the gap between the two will less to under a million by the end of the year. With the new slim coming out and a lower price point for the PS3. 

Person B (fanboyism): Well, Sony lost money $1.2 billion here $6 billion total, they need money, I'm going to laugh etc...

so if MS cut both Kinect and 360's price(K 149->99,250GK 399->299,4GK 299->199,250G 299->249,4G 199->149),not just 360

Microsoft has less to offer but they have system sellers and they plot them in at the right times of the year when the largest amount of people are willing to spend. Sony has been selling steady for a while. It's like a steam roller.

Well at the end of the day the PS3 will outsell the X Box 360 but not by this year.

Amerika has a way bigger impact on Christmas time than Europe and Japan. And since the X Box 360 is bigger in Amerika and alyways have the better and more deals it will sale more during christmas time than the PS3.

The PS3 has a chance to overcome the X Box 360 in erly 2013.

Every year you say the same and every year Xbox 360 gains ground at the end of the year.
