Calling it shitty is a little over board. Framerate, graphics, controls, playtime, etc had no problems.

Compared to other games, this is a 9 or more. There is no basing it on other Zeldas and docking points because it is not OoT. I agree that it is not in the too three, but I am willing for it to go in the top five zeldas. I have not beaten it yet though, so maybe I will hate it more later on?

Hmm depends.

I personally thought despite its flaws, Skyward Sword's ending was the best since Ocarina of Time; it may arguably be better. What happens in the several hours before my piss you off though. Gotta play it to find out.

Majora's Mask was probably my most  disappointing ending...

every TLoZ after OOT is just plain average for a Zelda game.

They all just copy the OoT formula and add a gimmick.
MM had masks and time travel ( both of which were already in OoT btw, although more simple)
WW had wind and sailing. Nintendo just altered the OoT a little and named it the wind waker.
TP had the wolf part, which felt rly simple and boring after playing Okami i might add.
Not to mention being easy. The wolf part was also ripped off from OKami i feel ( which was and still is critically acclaimed)
With SS they also copied the OoT formula while while taking a note from mario galaxy and the newest rages ,upgradable weapons( not rly new btw, more like 6/7 yrs late) and motion controls.

The difficulty is a joke, everybody gets better at zelda and they just keep making it easier, which i feel insulting as a once harcore zelda fan.
In fear of being too short due to being so easy, Nintendo just makes everything rly tedious and time consuming.

Also allmost all zeldas have have no connection between them, theyre in different worlds and time but all have the same looking boy named Link which feels cheap and effortless. The handheld versions only add to this mess.
The whole zelda timeline feels like a cheap afterthought and helps nothing in this regard imo.

Zelda wii U will have the same basic OoT formula + gimmick( something involving tablet most likely) + easier
thx but ill pass

This is a personal opnion thread, i'm sorry for you.

Think that my worst was Majora's Mask, i simply hated it and was dumb how that worked. And that is loved by so many, so i know how you feel.

I just don't feel like SS did enough to differentiate itself from other games in the series. Just feels like another Ocarina of Time to me, couldn't get more than 6 hours in.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I definitely had a few issues with the game which I've gone over in detail before now. It was too streamlined, the sky was far too empty, and the sidequests/mini-games were completely uninteresting.

It did a lot right though. I loved progressing through each of the three areas, and slowly discovering more with each return visit. I loved the combat and with the increased defences of previously nonchalantly dispatched enemies, I thought it was a little tougher than the last couple of games.

As such, it isn't my least favourite Zelda. That still comfortably belongs to Wind Waker.

I'm never going to understand the comparisons to Ocarina though, they are completely different entities. Twilight Princess was the Ocarina clone.

The game was too damn linear and there were no difficult enemies at all.

It says +12 on the package, but that's bullshit. It was made for the whole family to (be able to) watch, but even as a linear game it would be too boring for them. The game put the series to shame (which is reflected through its sales), especially when we now have the epicness of Skyrim to compare it to.

They need to go back to their roots and expand from there instead for replacing them altogether.

Nice OP, but I have to disagree. SS is my favourite Zelda because it does something new, whilst keeping what made classic Zelda so great (the dungeons, the bosses, the characters).

If you want something like OoT, play OoT. Something like ALttP, play ALttP. Where's the difficulty?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Zelda Skyaward Sword was the best Zelda I played.

It has easily the best gameplay of the serie. The Wii motion + is perfection and I don't even want to hear about buttons for the next Zelda.

Best game of the generation with Mario galaxy.

They probably did not need to give it a 10. But I have had a lot of fun with it. I to am low on time or I would play it more. Now I am lucky to play a few online matches with Goldeneye. I think Savior was expecting too much.

Way too much quality to give this a 6/10. You give broken games like Ged 3D a 6/10. Way too low Savior. Extreme statements are usually ignored in this world.

Spurge....

I beat Skyward Sword back in March...and since then I had time to sit and reflect on what the game did right and wrong, and how it stacked up to older Zeldas...

There were things it did do right. There were moments where I was excited during combat and surprised at the subtlety of certain details. Despite the good times though, there are many reasons people did not bother to finish even half of it; my own brothers refused to play the game at all once they saw the artstyle.

I give it a 6/10 for a Zelda game; it does beat the quality of many other games out there, but that is what I expect. Out of all videogame franchises on earth, there are few I hold to a higher standard then Zelda, especially when we have waited 5 years for it (supposedly it took that long to make...I doubt it.). When I was younger, I would reenact Zelda scenarios/characters with my friends at recess for pete's sake. When I bought Skyward Sword, I spent 70 dollars on the game and Wii Motion Plus; I never spent that much money on one solitary item in my entire life up to that point; it is the most expensive videogame I have purchased!

Was I expecting too much, actually no. I was wary of the reviews and did not expect perfection because the formula was said to have undergone a change. However, the final product felt empty at times, which is a shame. When you know the excellence a series is capable of, seeing it fall short makes you a sad panda.

@bold. rly? The artstyle was good, it just wasn't fully realized in the enemies I find. But it wasn't an instant turn off imho. Actually, the first moments in the game were some of my favorite (the graduation ceremony).

But for the rest, I know how you feel. It just wasn't as full as the other ones, and you never really felt lost (always knew where you were going next). There was alot of hand-holding, and I guess that probably means the Zelda series is changing. Maybe they'll all be like this from now on.

The game was harder and more challenging than OOT, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess.

And no way a casual player "whole family" is getting past the puzzles without a lot of practice.
