Forums - Gaming - What innovation do you hope to see more of next gen?

3D, tablet controllers, motion sensing, virtual reality, sniff a sphere and have some poweder fly inside your head immersion you in the game?

There's many new innovations coming to gaming, I'm sure more then what I've mentioned, so which do you prefer and how does it benefit gaming?

I for one would hope to see a touch of virtual reality, I know the technology is far from practical now, but maybe it might make a start next gen. Just imagine one day putting in contacts that display a game right into your eyes putting you into the world.

Better graphics and faster load times. Also, faster download times.

Tablet controllers are awesome, from the hardware side.

Software-wise... Not sure. It's hard to think of specific things I'd like as the best innovation is often stuff we don't even know we want yet.

Games that are nothing but QTE's and cutscenes.

I want to see more innovation in the "less hyped experiences" category. Just good games, like they used to be made, minus all the hype and expectations of today. That's the innovation I'd like to see.

Also, I'd like Motion controls to be refined. I'd like to be able to swing link's sword and feel a reaction when I hit something in the game. I don't know how that would be possible, but it would be awesome. I'd like swordfights to be really tight and not full of fail like in SS (it didn't feel right).

I'd like to see more games make use of the Wiimote like pointer controls. To me it feels right.

I'd like to see more expansion into the movie-like game content, in the vein of Uncharted. I want this to grow more and include more humor, more screenplay, and the emergence of a Spielberg for video games. I'd like the medium to break out of its usual role in appealing to (sorry) geeks and start appealing to the mainstream more.

I want games to be fun for longer then 3 hours like this gen seemed to be. save a few good titles like skyrim and kingdoms of amalur most games were boring in a day.

You know what im talking about

Yay!!!

I want more reliable internet.

Physics, AI, graphics. Same ol shit plus awesome multi-tasking abilities and fast as hell loading would be nice. Among other things...

Fast as hell would be greatly appreciated, with d/l content and games coming along, it seems to take forever just to install a 15GB game.
