The weekly gap of the Ps3 and 3DS slowly closing, this week the gap closed a fair amount:

In the coming weeks i know theres a few games coming for the 3DS, im not gonna name them since im not sure of the names.  And the "clearing stock" price cut, so its been named on this site.

When do you think the sales will swap and we will see the Ps3 sitting back on top of the weekly sales?

I'm guessing that it'll be within the next 3 weeks.

I'll go with next week, because of the ps3 discounts and no 3ds game launches

Hmm, has to be near future, because Europe 3DS gets some releases in June or July (and I think also Japans gets something). That will be enough until August, when Mario hits. So it has to be end of April or May for PS3 to get temporarily the sales-crown.

Depends if we've got PS3 bang on, if they ship the 2m they were expecting that means there is 700k on shelves which is too little, means we've been overtracking. Same can be said if 3DS shipments are lower than Nintendo expect.

Perhaps soon for 1-4 weeks, but it won't last. It's a Nintendo handheld afterall.

I'm gonna stick my neck out there and say never. Japan has a fire emblem launch next week and from what I hear it should easily propel the 3DS over 100k there that week and I think the momentum will continue and Japan will hold it in the No.1 WW spot. In Japan, I really don't see as huge a PS3 boost come Golden week (coming up soon?) compared to what I imagine will be a huge 3DS boost. That coupled with a modest Nintendo Direct Boost (mainly the NSMB2 announcement) means I'm gonna stick with my prediction.

oh shit, fire emblem edition? japanese love that kinda shit. until it stops selling like hotcakes in japan, it will stay on top worldwide. then again ps3 should see some significant boosts itself the next few weeks.
