So you would have no respect for me ? :(
On the other hand I have almost 100k Gamerscore. That must mean something right ? ;)

Wow, I think you earn my respect for the week! 100K, I wonder how much in PS3 Trophy level that corresponds to?

Can't say for sure, but should be at least level 20 according to this: http://ps3trophies.comyr.com/
I have 13 completed retail games and 5000 achievements overall. Now I don't know the distribution of my other achievements, but even 5000 bronze trohpies and 13 platinum ones lift me to level 19.

Looking at the VGC trophy league, 5000 achievements (trophies) should be level 25.

That's crazy good. You should be very proud. The highest on my PSN friends list has level 18. I wonder what level the best guys on VGC have. Is it a sticky thread?

But PC has no trophies so even if games costed 1 buck I wouldnt buy it for the simple fact that there are no trophies.

Exactly. Im hooked on Trophies. I used to prefer multiplatforms for PC due to the better graphics but after I started hunting for Trophies I prefer the PS3 versions of all games. PC games have similar systems to trophies/achievements (Steam achievements I think) but not a universal system like Trophies on PS3 and no one on PC cares about PC/Steam achievements anyway.

I dont even care about trophies/achievements on consoles O_o.

Well you should start to care.

If someone on my friends list or a player I met in an online game has level 5 in the overall Trphy score I have no respect for him.

People around level 10 get a medium amount of respect.

People who are level 15 and higher get insane amounts of respect. It means he is a true hardcore gamer and deserves respect.

Sup bro, whats your PSN? I'll add you. I'm 1% shy of Level 18 myself :')

That godly sound when a trophy pops up...

Haha, yeah I love that sound so much. Especially when you know it indicates you just earned a Platinum trophy (I have only two Plats yet but I am very proud of them lol).

Add me: SlimebeastS

Thanks!

Damn, people really care for trophies and e-peen ??? Roflzor, I thought I was a nolife otaku to brag on with friends back in the days by playing FZero to death to make the best time ever !!!

Now you just getting trophies by progressing to the game, most of the time I play a game I have no clue why lame achievments are popping while just killing bosses. What a useless feature of this generation. Especially when it's tied to an account that might be cancelled in a few years when sony and crosoft will shut down the servers (cf atlus' news demon's souls server shutting down...).

You sound like someone who didn't achieve very much regarding trophies. Demon's Souls is a game from 2009, the servers will be closed like many other servers have been closed. But Sony's PSN servers? Never, not as long as PlayStation exists. Even if it does, your account is still there and you can view your trophies by going to sites like psnprofiles.com

I really hope all our Trophies will carry over when we get the PS4. That would be so sweet and make it all worth it. Please say they do.

EDIT: Kantor dammit why did you have to ban Turkish just right now. Can't you see I'm in the middle of a conversation here.

damei still come out on the f'd up end. cause i still have to buy for consoles

Not stickied, because they wouldn't be visible in the Hot Topics section then.

You just made me pull up Steam to see what 15 games for $60...

It means you can get 15 games with a $60 budget as compared to consoles, you can only get one.

Not true. You see used games exist and also dl games on consoles and IPads (and Android) at affordable prices. $60 could get you quite a bit for a long time now. Steam has made it accessible to PC. Be happy and don't gloat.

P.S.

Its probably an incentive to keep PC gamers buying games.

Uh, it's obviously to get more people to buy the game. Same thing is done with console games

Console brands would never be so desperate. Its easier to get someone to buy a console game in this day and age. Steam gives unreal prices for games, its awesome. Half the reason for that is to keep people buying. More than affordable pricing should give you enough reason to game. Cheaper alternatives to consoles, plus superior versions of games? By rights with all that they should be demanding more.

That largely depends on the type of game we're talking about. Console ports: True. Properly made games with PC in mind: Not true

See why I say we can enjoy the little things? I don't care if a game is technically superior if it doesnt have a great story, characters and gameplay. Consoles have given me this. The PC games worth having are only a handful each year, which is why It isn't going to hurt me to wait. Lets see if their stories are propper.

Last time I checked you weren't even aware of the great PC games that came out in 2011 so your statement doesn't hold much water. You also begin by saying: "We can enjoy the little things" and then you use yourself as an example. Anyway, not going to continue with this discussion since you like to ignore PC games that aren't heavily marketed.

Show me the godly games that I missed bro. Please. :)

I think I already did in another thread. Or was that not you? And I never talked about "godly" games (what the hell is that anyway?), I was talking about PC games "worth having", like you said...

If a game needs to be godly for it to be worth having for you, then you can definitely not say you can "enjoy the little things" and PC gamers can not as a whole.

That was a list of exclusives that were worth talking about. I was referring to these "properly made games" you speak of. I game regardless of PC or console but I want to know what makes PC so superior outside of graphics.

Don't cut out the rest "...with PC in mind". That's what I meant. Trying to cater to the PC audience (BF3, Witcher 2, every Blizzard game since god knows when, Portal 2 etc.), not port a console game with no changes at all (Dead Space, Cod etc.)

Last I checked Witcher 2, portal 2 and BF3, are all multiplatform now. To tell you the truth I called Witcher 2 being sent to consoles after I saw its very action RPG stylized gameplay which I dont see very much on PC more native to games like Assassins Creed and Demon Souls with a Bioware inspired conversation tree . Blizzard is PC....and if exclusivity is broken with Blizzard theres not much one can say really. Anyway, games should be made for PC first to ensure the highest graphical potential, the place where it will run best, but a proper game has nothing to do with power. It has everything to do with how a game ( it's self) is made. I'll take a line from Nvidia......that is how a game is meant to be played.

Must be an American phenomenon.

In Europe importing games from the UK (PC and consoles) or buying games from the "local" Amazon is far cheaper than anything Steam could offer.
Infact standard prices for Steam games are usually more expensive than retail games.

Skyrim is 50€ (German Steam store)
Amazon.de has it for 41€
TheHut.com has it for 38,64€ (including delivery to EU states)

Modern Warfare 3 is 60€ (Steam)
Amazon.de has it for 33€

Left 4 Dead is 20€ (Steam)
Amazon.de has it for 11,50€

It can even match many of the Steam "deals".

I must be lucky since I pay for everything on Steam in dollars, and therefore usually get the same price as the Americans. It's different with Origin though. There, they region lock it.

Sounds highly illegal if you "cheated" your way to be able to do that.
Otherwise you're just lucky because you live in an incredibly sparsely inhabited country. Usually every bigger country should have its own Steam Store and is thus region locked as well.

When I was in Europe for a long while Steam kept telling me how "The credit card you are buying this with and the country you reside in don't match" and wouldn't let me buy the games I wanted. 3 minutes later I just connected to a proxy in the US and everything was solved. Bought a whole bunch of Steam stuff while over in Europe, apparently for significantly cheaper. I do need to note that you only need to be on the proxy while you buy the games. Downloading them has no problem. I am assuming a VPN would also work.
