Escape plan 6/10.

Fun to see Arnie and Stallone back together, but otherwise a pretty forgettable movie. Good for a Hollywood action flick, but would have been better if it was based on Gitmo or Black Dolphin. They were honest enough to include a little documentary in the extras about real high security prisons, rightly ripping the movie to shreds. Best way to escape, fake a release form and fax it to the prison.

And are screen writers simply stupid, in love with popular myths or want to make their audience feel smart about themselves by making the sextant part as ridiculous as possible. From what hemipshere is the north star visible, oh let me flush a toilet to find out, wtf. And it didn't even matter one bit in the end, they still needed the doctor who knew their exact location anyway...

Stallone was good luckily, Arnie not in top form, Mr Law and Order CI totally out of place, the rest the usual stereotypes. Still an enjoyable way to spend 2 hours waiting for GT6 to update.

Yes, it's very very good. High quality stuff.

it was good and enjoyable nice soundtrack...I didnt really care for the story and the ending was like "thats it"..

watched all episodes it was great except the last episode because you know whats going to happen and you dont like it ..and the main female character I did like her in the first 2,3 episodes but then she becomes so annoying ,persistent and oh man does she have a bad timing and always that same emotionless look on her face I hate her guts but thats just me. no second season announced but if its going to be a new story and characters.

Finally watched the first Taken movie and also watched the second one. Would give the first one 7/10, also Family Guy did a excellent job in spoofing that movie in one of their episodes. The second one is pretty decent also would give it a 6.5/10 even though the plot is pretty ridiculous especially the part where the main characters daughter all of the sudden is a expert driver in Istanbul even though she failed her drivers test three times already and still doesn't have her license.

Riddick 7/10
It doesn't do anything new, it has the usual stereotypes and cliches, it's all drenched in yellow but I enjoyed it. Great world building / planet design, looks terrific on the big screen and great surround sound to back it up. The mix of sets, props and cgi worked pretty convincing, only the flying bike scenes look fake.

^ It has a lot of similarities to Pitch black but it's a sequel. He gets left for dead alone on a hostile planet and has to find a way off. In the extras Vin Diesel says he produced it himself as fan service.

The raid (first one, second one comes out on the 8th) 6.5/10
Decent action movie with a good soundtrack, it's the low budget Indonesian version of Dredd. Although since The raid came first maybe Dredd was inspired by it. Good fight scenes, plenty variation in the action to keep it interesting.

The movie unfortunately doesn't look all that good on blu-ray, soft digital camera look, muted colors, flat contrast with black level issues as if certain scenes were digitally brightened afterwards. I guess understandable with a 1.1 million budget. The movie was shot with the Panasonic AF-100 fig rig.

A slightly steadier version of a handheld camera. It does turn the camera into another actor, the camera movements did a good job to enhance the action.

I wonder what The raid 2 will look like. IMDB lists the GoPro HD Hero 3 as camera, but that's a $300 consumer grade sports camera. Sounds like a step backwards? Maybe a typo.
