Yea I don't care about super high res textures and millions of polygons per character I want a great history, great characters and a huge world to explore and that would take lots of money and time on HD consoles I wish Square Enix move FF to portables (3DS and Vita) downgrade the graphics but upgrade everything else, it worked for Dragon Quest and Monster Hunter.

While I don't disagree with the overall premise of your OP, the series that you give as an example aren't that good, since both have had great and substantial releases on home consoles whose quality has not dwindled and have prospects of releasing games in the future for home consoles as well, keeping on par with the previous games in terms of quality (DQX comes to mind).

Handheld releases doesn't equal instant quality (see Tales of series, their highest quality games are on home consoles, not handhelds). It has all to do with how well developed the games are, no matter in which device they're in.

They should definately do some spin offs for handhelds, I really like spinoffs on handhelds, like god of war, metal gear, ratchet and clank, daxter, even though they could actually be considered main games cuz they are awesome
