Forums - General - Have you noticed that there are "some" Asians in the West who try to hide their culture?

@Dany612
Generalizing a group of people(in your case, conservative americans) makes you look stupid. If that truly is what you believe, than I believe you are stupid, and believe you are part of the problem.

Because of conservatives/republicans. They want everyone to assemble into this invisible so called 'American lifestyle' and culture and anything else is an insult to America. You can not under any circumstances speak another language while around people who speak English, and you can not print in multiple languages. If your name sounds sooo un-American you have to Americanize it because no one wants to try to pronounce a complicated name. There are people in America who are so ignorant and see different cultures as a threat.
I love Asian culture. I love seeing how diversity can bring beauty. I love Spanish (Baroque) inspired buildings and Chinese architecture. I also love Spanish accents and Asian accents along with others.

How old are you?

How is that relevant?. All it takes is a click on my username to find out!

Because your post seems like a really shallow generalization that can only come from someone that has really shallow and uneducated knowledge or opinion about social politics

How about Americans who culturally appropriate Japanesepeople?
From the strange part of youtube: "Onime Club"

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

It was a shallow generalization, just like the thread topic.
See where I'm going with this?

SNL has had recurring skits of the fictitious Michigan State Campus TV's "J Pop America Fun Time Now!" show. They're hilarious.

Totally. Every time I see an Asian man who isn't wearing a kimono or who speaks English like it's his first language, I have to fight down the urge to beat him senseless for being such a disgusting sellout and/or thinking he can trick me into not realizing that he's actually Asian.

yeah, i always get confused too if these Asians don't wear their straw hats, how am i supposed to tell they are Asians??

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

I respect all races & i also respect thier decision in how they represente themselves & culture.
That why we all live here in america cause we are giving choices & oppurtunity to be different or live how we want to.
