Forums - Gaming - Skyrim Issues? Duh, of course, but has the smoking gun finally been found?

From what I was reading, I hear that the PC port is actually the worst when it comes to glitches/bugs.

they knew the problem and they release it just to make the 11 11 11 fantasy date.

i think this is the worst game release ever, pc and ps3 got some garbage port ...

Excuse me, but have you played the PC version to come to that conclusion?

Because I've just logged my 80th hour on it and so far I've only had one crash to desktop and two graphical bugs. I could list a very large amount of games that launch with more problems than these, even for PC. Just because the PS3 got a crappy version (and was anyone expecting otherwise after the PS3 Oblivion fiasco?), you can't simply overlap that to the PC version.

Heck, the PC version of Skyrim is less buggy, more stable and less glitchy than when Oblivion and Fallout 3 launched. It took the patch 1.4.2 for Oblivion and patch 1.3 for Fallout 3 for them to be as stable as 1.1 Skyrim is to me.

Go to bathesda pc forum section and see for yourself :P

just because you have no problems does not mean this is less bugged

for the first time i bought a game and can´t play it and i am waiting for a patch that probably does not fix anything , waiting 15 days

"improved performance for long-term play on PS3"yea right

I know the PC version has it's problems, but it's not near enough the problems that the PS3 version has, so stop comparing both.  Also, a lot of the PC problems can be fixed with .ini tweaking, the problem is that most people don't bother with it.

Every Bethesda game has always released with a miasma of bugs, glitches and whatnots, especially the ES series. Like I said, Skyrim has been, so far, the most stable experience I've had with an ES game so far, and I've been with the series since the start.

And though the PS3 version has the annoying lag problem, I've got a couple of friends who have it and have finished the game and done most of the quests without a lot of problems, so just because you can't finish it doesn't mean everyone's on the same boat.

.ini tweaking works wonders for Skyrim. Then again, it was the same for Oblivion, people just don't care to do it. The information on how to do it properly is available and it's quite easy and fixes a lot of the problems for the PC version.

I'm not saying that Bethesda isn't to blame for releasing the game as it is (it's lacking a full month or so of beta testing), but it's not like most problems aren't fixable by the user itself. Plus, those with the PC version have access to some mods that improve a lot of stability and correct some glitches as well. After installing the 4GB mod, haven't had a single pop-up or texture loading because the game streams the full array of textures from the RAM (even after installing HD 2K textures, which are 4 times bigger than the "vanilla" textures).

Well at least they will fix it quickly....

I must admit, I haven't really paid that much attention to the glitches, but they do seem fairly unforgivable. My friend has been playing the Xbox version with no real bugs apart from the stupid slightly floating horses, though I don't think that can be easily fixed, so that seems acceptable. However, the PS3 version does seem totally broken and I really don't understand how they could release like this. I can accept small issues with such a vast game, but if the game is just broken, it shouldn't be launched

I know that Uncharted 3 actually had a game breaking bug on older PS3s, but this doesn't seem to be like that, even if they test it on debug consoles or something, I just don't see how they can release a game in this situation

my PS3 version is now at 9MB save size, and im still not experiancing lag, I played the game for a good 2-3 hours today aswell.

Could you comment on the frame rate outside of this entire 6MB issue? I want to know if it's at least stable. Some people were saying it can dip to the 20ish regions during intense fights :/

Start a new game and you will notice the difference.

360 version runs pretty good here.

Got it installed on my hardrive and I had maybe two or three crashes during the load times over my 60 hours of playtime and I think that's acceptable especially when there three times as much autosaves. I had one serious quest bug, but again after loading one of the autosaves that problem was easily fixed and only cost me maybe 5 minutes of my time.
Only thing that kinda bugs me that the UI does not always respond when you open it. You can open and close it but not really navigate through it. Takes some 10 seconds in some cases.
But maybe that got already fixed ? Idk I'm playing the unpatched version.

I remember when my PS3 froze twice while I was playing Uncharted. So 3 times in 60 hours is okay.

It's astounding how a game this broken can be shipped out by a publisher (from what I've heard around), let alone garner the stellar review it has gotten so far

I'm still gonna try it out, so many people recommended it, I'm just disappointed

PS: lol @ title

ive noticed a slight drop in framerate when i first enter a city and i sprint around, its ok if i run normally. I cant say ive ever experienced and lag while in combat and ive just recently fought a frost dragon, but it was just me and the dragon onscreen so that would of helped.

Nothing ive experienced is anything like what ive seen on the videos shown, and the tiny bit i have has definitely not ruined my skyrim experience. I'll keep playing till it does get unbearable, but the patch is out on monday/tuesday anyway so i think i might have gotten away with it.
