Forums - Gaming - Skyrim Issues? Duh, of course, but has the smoking gun finally been found?

oh my gosh! :o

A Bethesda game has glitches? What is the world coming too?!? Oh wait. I'd be more surprised if it didn't... The PC version is fine. 70 hours and only a couple graphical hiccups I caused by tabbing out of Steam

my PS3 version is now at 9MB save size, and im still not experiancing lag, I played the game for a good 2-3 hours today aswell.

Could you comment on the frame rate outside of this entire 6MB issue? I want to know if it's at least stable. Some people were saying it can dip to the 20ish regions during intense fights :/

Yes, the regular blank PS3 version of Skyrim just like Oblivion can easily dip downwards to 20 fps during intense fights. Not a problem for me. Many other games dip significantly below 30 fps and this is a fairly slow RPG, not a shooter.

My save file is now 7.3 MB with 70 hours of gameplay and I've just started to get some stuttering but nothing that is close to unplayable.

@TadpoleJackson: It's sad that people have actually come to accept, and even expect things like this from this supposedly great developer

If people didn't just take crap like this, they'd do more to fix it (and prevent it from happening again)

It's because most people prefer a rugged gem over a polished piece of shit.

Why not a polished gem? It's possible you know

Some people can't just put down a game they waited so long to play I'm sure.

Simply because the game is so complex that you'd need several thousand if not ten thousand people to test it to find all the bugs.

this !!!

the ps3 lag problem is easy to detect , how a company like bathesda did not knew of this? ofcourse they knew and they release it with these problems, they want the gamers do their job to detect the problems.

now the people that buy the game on release are the beta testers for them. And the people who dont have internet connection ?

Oh my, I guess PC games were invented when Internet connection was a commodity for everyone right? Oh wait...

Did you ever touch a PC game in the nineties? If they came out with major bugs or glitches, you were stuck with what you had and had to wait an enormous amount of time for CD patches which only came on specialized magazines or had to buy a new CD patched to the most current version. Or how about shareware and having to buy a new floppy for the complete game?

But wait, there was almost no internet connection on the early nineties or it was pretty horrid even in the late nineties right? Gamers have been beta testers for a long, long time. And not on PCs only. I remember a lot of NES, SNES, PSX, Saturn and so on, games that came with myriad of bugs and gamebreaking glitches. And guess what? You were fucked if you had a copy with a gamebreaking bug, because there was no way out of it.

I really think gamers nowadays are some of the most spoiled bunch out there. You demand everything to come out perfect and instantly lash out when it is not. It would be ideal if every game came out without a single bug or glitch, but in some type of games that is not possible. How can you expect a massive, open-world game to be bug free is beyond me. This is not a corridor shooter or a 4 hour long linear platform game. It's a 200+ hours game which is bound to have problems and that Bethesda will correct. Be glad that the game has quality.

Current PC Build

CPU - i7 8700K 3.7 GHz (4.7 GHz turbo) 6 cores OC'd to 5.2 GHz with Watercooling (Hydro Series H110i) | MB - Gigabyte Z370 HD3P ATX | Gigabyte GTX 1080ti Gaming OC BLACK 11G (1657 MHz Boost Core / 11010 MHz Memory) | RAM - Corsair DIMM 32GB DDR4, 2400 MHz | PSU - Corsair CX650M (80+ Bronze) 650W | Audio - Asus Essence STX II 7.1 | Monitor - Samsung U28E590D 4K UHD, Freesync, 1 ms, 60 Hz, 28"

Come on, it's acceptable for a huge game to have a few bugs I understand that. The problem with Bethesda is that every frigging of their game comes with a huge collection of bugs...
I remember playing Daggerfall on the PC, it was the most bugged game I have ever played....

GTA is a huge open world game too and doesn't come with 10% of the bugs of any Bethesda game...

What is not acceptable anyway is that the PS3 version got the same review as the 360 version everywhere.

A tonn of reviewer out there didn't do their job at all...

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

You can't be serious. That's no excuse at all, "I don't want to properly debug my game, it'd take too long"...? Besides, testing it wouldn't be nearly as bad as you make it out to be, and even if it was, it's still no excuse

You may like the game despite it's issues, but that doesn't change the fact that the devs put out an unfinished product, and this means they've failed in the professional sense
