Forums - Gaming - Skyrim Issues? Duh, of course, but has the smoking gun finally been found?

Patch 1.02 solves the lag but at great cost. Lighting and draw distance have taken a big hit and water now looks like a joke seen from a distance.
All they needed to do was clean up the mess, remove the old corpses and don't remember every little thing you misplaced or knocked over. Instead the graphics settings have been pared back by a lot.
Don't install this patch until you can't stand the lag anymore...

Bethesda just lost a ton of respect from me they garnered from new vegas. What the hell? The PS3 version was miles behind the 360 version as it is, with all the performance problems and graphics problems, now they dumb down the graphics even more to "resolve" the game save problem.

At least with new vegas they didn't remove anything but patched it up after a long time.

Well Obsidian made New Vegas, not Bethesda games studios

So the answer is get the 360 version if you can, the PC version if you can't and if worst comes to worst get the PS3 version... You would have thought by now that 3rd party devs would be able to make parity with the 360, especially as this is meant to be a new engine

Yet it isn't, it's the same gamebryo engine but heavily tweaked. Only the Creation Tools are brand new, hence why they haven't released them yet for the general modding community.

playing skyrim since its launch and i've experienced only 1 bug and that was Sapphire in Riften. Shes stuck in one place and i cant talk with her at all. So i can clearly say, this game is the purest Bethesda experience for me.

what's wrong with you guys? I remember I bought Fallout 3 for PS3 one year after release and it still was more buggy and had massive framerate drops and it freezed every five hours at least once. Skyrim only freezed two times after 50 hours and yes, there are framerate issues too, but hey, they are no big deal I think. Stop bitching and enjoy this masterpiece :)

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

People on the internet will complain about everything, also the main catalysts to bashing the game were banned in this thread. It remains to have mostly reasonable individuals.

I also wonder is they really took out graphical power to allow for the better framerate. The human memory is not that great to notice something like that unless they drastically reduced the graphical quality. I did notice after the update my file size dropped about 400kb so something definantly was changed.

All TES are the buggiest games ever made and Skyrim didn't changed that, that's sad ! My brother just lost 4 hours with a buggy quest, now it takes care to better manage his saves ! I highly recommend to have several saves and to save often !

Usually when people get stuck you can fix it using your FUS RO DAH shout.

After looking at the sky when it look like the aurora borealis I agree with you 100%. The definantly made the graphics worse to get a better framerate. Not very happy that they cannot make the game on par with the 360, but still it is a great game.
