Patch 1.02 solves the lag but at great cost. Lighting and draw distance have taken a big hit and water now looks like a joke seen from a distance.
All they needed to do was clean up the mess, remove the old corpses and don't remember every little thing you misplaced or knocked over. Instead the graphics settings have been pared back by a lot.
Don't install this patch until you can't stand the lag anymore...

Bethesda just lost a ton of respect from me they garnered from new vegas. What the hell? The PS3 version was miles behind the 360 version as it is, with all the performance problems and graphics problems, now they dumb down the graphics even more to "resolve" the game save problem.

At least with new vegas they didn't remove anything but patched it up after a long time.

Well Obsidian made New Vegas, not Bethesda games studios

So the answer is get the 360 version if you can, the PC version if you can't and if worst comes to worst get the PS3 version... You would have thought by now that 3rd party devs would be able to make parity with the 360, especially as this is meant to be a new engine

Yet it isn't, it's the same gamebryo engine but heavily tweaked. Only the Creation Tools are brand new, hence why they haven't released them yet for the general modding community.
