uh... okay?
what does it matter if a game is great people can buy it anytime, but thats not the answer to my question.

| Pyro as Bill said: Seriously though, most people who play games don't have a clue as to who made or published a game. There is a maximum of 20M 'Nintendo fans' who only buy Nintendo consoles. I think the real number is much, much lower. Will people buy a game 12 months after it's released on other systems? Go ask the Sony fans. |
Yes.
Oblivion released a Year late and sold over 2 Million units. The follow up has sold a Million in a Week on PS3.
Mass Effect 2, the 2nd game in a very story heavy RPG franchise, is going to be a Million seller. Mass Effect 3 is coming to PS3 day and date with the 360 version.
BioShock sold over 900k units on the PS3, it got BioShock 2 day and date with the 360 and the game sold over a Million. PS3 is getting Move support for Infnite, along with a special Move peripheral.
Episodes from Liberty City has sold 1.2 Million units on PS3, despite Microsoft pretty much funding the content and having lengthy exclusivity.
______
In short - If Skyrim releases on the Wii this time next Year. Game of the Year Edition... Easy Million seller. Probably 2 as it will be a VERY popular launch game with new content (U Pad) and excellent word of mouth throughout the Holiday season and beyond.

Of course I would like you to explain the appeal of Skyrim. Also the game being HD console or not has nothing to do with my judgement. I believe the appeal of the game has no meaning for me. |
Well, for starters, i've already made these two videos to explain how the game works in third person camera for people on the forums
http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=136765&page=1
but if you watched those i'll explain it a bit further if you haven't yet seen its appeal, since there is too much to talk about in this game, that i can't show it all in just one sentence.

Seems like you only visit select threads then.
I have stated in another thread that the game is actually quite interesting for me. Claiming it is not a game though is putting me off, as I usually like playing games and not non-games.

Because the game sounds like it might be interesting enough (from its fans) to own; but I am not really into PC-style RPGs (even though I love console RPGs), so I wouldn't want to shell out full price for it - but I wouldn't rule out a bargain price. It has nothing to do with me being a Nintendo fan, there are certain Nintendo franchises I feel the same about; like Metroid, Pikmin, Advance Wars, Battalion Wars.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I would not rate it a bad game, was just stating that its not revolutionary or amazing as made out to be. Its like when Bioshock came out, that was basically a copy of an older game, yet everyone seemed to be screaming out revolutionary and unique and new it was, when it was now.
Arkham city is easily a 9+ game and I spent many hours playing and will play multiple times I'm sure, though that still doesn't mean I can ignore its fualts or let it be praised for doing something first and amazing, when it wasn't first. It's all in all essentially a spiderman copy. You swung around the city, upgraded your powers, randomly did little savings and side missions, meanwhile meeting iconic villians during the main story. When this comes out on PC, I can see a spiderman mod being made very quickly.
Now I'm not saying a spiderman copy game is bad, when actually I wouldn't mind the guys who did this game also make a spiderman game. Both games would be great, but its a no brainer that theya re very similar.
But Arkham city was a fun game, amazing voice acting, great visuals, made you feel like a badass regardless how quicktime easy the fighting was, great story, had suspence, actually felt like 10 hours was real time and not made up, got to learn more about characters, neat use of gadgets and so on with much more praise. Like I said it was a great game, just it had its faults. One being it felt like you were fighting the same henchmen over and over and over again. Two, like bioshock it was not unique and first. Three AI could use a little work. THe sneak attack for example, seems way too long and noisy for someone being not two feet away to not hear or notice it. Also would be nice if it took a peg from Splinter Cell games in that you could drag the body away and put into some shadows. Though seems every enemy had that stupid heart monitor thing that alerted them whenever someone was taken down though anyway. So I would have removed heart moniter and brought in the hide body feature.

People like me almost always buy a game well over a year after it's released. Now where can I get a copy of Windwaker? (seriously)
