Forums - Sales - Kinect games sales .... not so hot.

I think considering the user base that it has done pretty well for itself.

let's talk about this when 10 million kinect units have been sold.

The example they use is Harry Potter? I totally forgot everyone has been dying for that game to come out ever since it was announced! /sarcasm

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Maybe they just want to hack the kinect?

What I want from a game.

Gameplay > Story > Content > Graphics

Visual Style > Graphics

Smooth Camera, Intuitive Controls

Friction! When everything feels right!

I get the distinct feeling that a lot of early Move/Kinect owners are sticking to one, maybe two, titles and some demos and waiting for the presumed better titles to come.  Almost everyone you speak to with either peripheral invariably talks about how the next batch of titles will really show what the devices can do.

So long as Kinect/360 bundles sell like they have in US MS will be happy enough at this point I think.

I mean, let's be serious, Move only has one good title, SC, and one good PSN title, Tumble, at the moment (I'm ignoring Heavy Rain, etc and yes they're good) while Kinect, ignorning the pack in title (which ain't bad) only has two good titles as well, Kinect Sports and Dance Central, and one okay title, Kinectimals (or whatever the hellish spelling of that title is).

I'd actually hate to see titles for either selling (outside the aforementioned good ones) like hotcakes at the moment as it would erode my faith in people not to buy average to below average products.

So personally, I'm not really surprised with the sales at the moment.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

It's a fad.  You know, like that Wii thingy.

Well based on a rough calculation the attach rate for Kinect games is currently around 0.66 exclusive of Kinect adventures, 1.66 inclusive. That isn't too bad for a platform which is only about a month old on average.

Tease.

LOOOOOL

@ OP

I've been noticing that, and if you take a look at Move-specific titles, the scenario isn't looking any better either...

I can't believe they compared the game to the movie as if it means the game is as good as the movie.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Exactly

As far as Kinect games go the good to decent ones are also the ones selling the most, which are Kinect Sports, Dance Central, Your Shape and Kinectimals.

There simply aren't enogh decent games out yet.

Let's not forget that there are also normal 360 games available.
Kinect software ratio will never be as high as Wii software ratio for example, because of that reason. Simply not possible.

But its tied to a popular movie.

All games tied to movies are huge!
