Forums - Sales Discussion - Kinect games sales .... not so hot.

Some of them really bad actually

Wilson also expressed disappointment in sales of Kinect games. Despite the hype Microsoft's motion-sensing camera system generated, Wilson said software for the unit totaled sales of $57 million, or about 4 percent of game sales for the month. Wilson didn't weigh in on the peripheral's most highly promoted titles, but he did say that Electronic Arts' third-person shooter Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 (the 360 version of which supports Kinect) was another disappointment, as the blockbuster movie tie-in sold fewer than 100,000 copies.

When games are ranked individually by platform, two Kinect titles almost made the top 10. "Dance Central" and "Kinect Sports" were number 11 and 12, according to David Dennis, Xbox group product manager.

well,it's November you know

$57m Kinect software in one month ?

That would be 1.14m software units (excluding Kinect Adventures)

well, the userbase is still SO LOW right now
game will not perform amazing number espceically since most are competiting each other and released at the same time

Don't forget that Microsoft normally exclude handheld games. So if Ghost of Sparta (yeah right), or any DS game sold more they'll ignore them.

But I'm pretty sure they did alright.

Haha. so sweet.

OT: It's expected some games for Kinect will flop, it always happens with launch lineups.

Seems premature to call Kinect software sales not so hot. We're gonna see a big boost in the coming weeks.

Also, the Kinect has a relatively small userbase. Do they really expect it to dominate the market with software sales?
