And with this news, XBoxOne has just passed PS4 in my want-to-buy console list, only because I didn't play any X360 exclusive game. And because of morality, BC must be mandatory for all the new consoles. Maybe this will stop the ridiculous amount of past gen games remastered?

Now the only one without backwards compatibility is PS4...

Available games...(small lol sorry...)

This is right now. Its only for a preview audiance. It'll increase to over 100 by the time is available to the general public.

Well I stand correct. No backwards compatibility via emulation. But kudos for making the games forward compatible. Seems to be easy since the architecture of X1 is close to 360.
I kinda doubt Sony will do it that way. 1st because it's a hassle and second because PSNow would be insta dead.

Um, what?  No, they are very different.

Under the hood, the original Xbox has more in common with the Xbox One than the 360.

The similarities is they both run DirectX - which is usually very backwards compatible, except the break from 9 to 10.  And Xbox One is DirectX 12, while 360 is DirectX 9.  (For reference the original Xbox is DX 8.)

That they got an emulator on the Xbox One to run X360 games and with improved rates is quite a nice accomplishment.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

This is good news for people with 360 games and stuff still. I wonder how it works, software emulation? So it took them 2 years to programme it? Not bad.

They have PS Now, so doubt they'll be in a rush.

Hmm, pie.

Just tuned into the conference and definitely impressed! BC is a huge thing for me - never owned a 360 so have tons of games to catch up on. XBO is so tempting now, gotta start saving up for one. Congrats, Microsoft!

It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

That's really nice. Should have been there from the start, but better late than never.

Yeah, it's a knock in Sony's door. But I don't think they will make PS4 BC, it's selling like hotcakes because reasons lol.

This was a great move by Microsoft to try and keep people from jumping ship to PlayStation. Hopefully this will pressure Sony into make games you already own free with PS+ via PS Now.

The great thing about this for Xbox fans is, with this being an X86 emulator, this should easily be a day one feature on all Xbox's going forward.
