"Just behind our friends come from the current generation, the PS3 and Xbox 360 - Microsoft's console lost to rival Sony in the Southeast, according to the survey, but seems to be tying the jog"
Nowhere does it say the 360 won, anywhere. Its losing in the most important "region", but tying elsewhere. Thats what I get from that.
Ohh...so the PS3 sold the same(or marginally better) than the X360 in November, but it has still sold less in the long-run. I get it now.
Common sense dictates that the X360 is pretty huge in brazil - it's Facebook page (Xbox brazil) has over 1 million likes.
My prediction threads:
Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)
PS Vita will sell under 20m units (made on 30th September 2012)
Wii U will sell under 7m in 2013 - I was right

No it's the opposite.
PS3 have always sold better than 360 until the Microsoft begin the production of 360 here (November or December 2011)... so after that seems like 360 is tying the sales with PS3.
The article says that.
Get it now.

What I can deduce from this thread:
The PS2 was (and still is) a beast in Brazil, but somewhere along the road (I don't know where) Sony messed up and now Brazillian gamers are flocking to the 360 in their transition to the next gen

Sony not messed up... the 360 have a huge price cut this year... from R$1200 to R$700... that's because the 360 is now manufactured here... and even with this price cut the 360 just managed to tie the sales with PS3.
The PS3 begin to be manufactured here in 2013... so the price is to be cut too.
This argument seems...pointless? Does it really matter? Impressive growth though!
wow really blatant flaming in this thread....

No. The Brazillian market is minuscule

Is there any data for install bases, marketshares or YoY increases/decreases for Brazil ethomaz? Curious on just how much impact that 360 cut had and what a similar cut would do to PS3.
