It's more of an RPG than ME2 from what I've seen. Like ME1, you gain exp during the mission. Also squad mates have an additional power in ME3. Still not as many as ME1 but more than the pultry amount in ME2. On the plus side, each power has more variations in ME3. For example in the screen below, Garrus's concussive shot has 3 different upgrades. In ME2 you only go to choose between two variations after you maxed out a power.

Basically, ME was more of a roleplaying game whereas ME 2 stripped a lot of the roleplaying elements in favour of more shooter/action elements. Some did not like this approach, I was one of them. Think Dragon Age vs Dragon Age 2. By the looks and sound of it, the development has gone further in the same direction now and I expect even more action and shooting/running and less roleplaying in ME 3.

I do understand the appeal of the series scince I'm a sucker for sci-fi but the series took a turn for the worse with the second game and the first one had some pretty glaring issues as well as far as design was concerned.

100% agree.

You know what I mean though.

I love Halo, Gears, ME, Skyrim, Fable, Forza for example. I dont really like many  Sony First Party games. However I dont go and post in a thread called UC3 best game ever threads, because I have nothing to say in favor of it. I'l be viewed as a fanboy so do the RIGHT thing and stay out. 

That is NOT what happen to Halo threads or Gears threads etc. In fact on this site calling Mass Effect the best series retracts statments of disgust all the time from so many people. 

I'm not stupid. I'm a member of a few forums and where VGC used to be a balanced well populated forum. Its now a very unbalanced hugely one sided populated forum. Is sad. Man of the friends on here I used to have who were 360 fans left, because of this. 

I have thought about it myself for last few months now. 

Anyways OT. :)

Erm, I'm fairly sure my save file is over 50 hours on ME 2 without the last DLC. So I'm fairly confident in saying you guys didn't do all the side stuff if you beat it in 20-30 hours.
