So does that mean that every DS game should get 0 marks for graphics? Should the XBox 360 and PS3 versions of games get docked marks because a high-end gaming PC can render the same game with higher detail and more advanced shaders at a higher resolution at a better framerate? ... The truth is that videogames should be reviewed for what they are, not what they are not. Tiger Woods for the PS3 and XBox 360 should not have critical reviews because the dual analogue controller can not match the experience of playing Tiger Woods on the Wii. People read reviews because they want to know how good a game is for a platform they own, they really don't care how it stack up against games they can't play on a platform they don't own. |
thank god somebody said something intelligent, i wasn't going to.
And thats the problem isn't it. TW does not get bad reviews for last gen controls, it doesn't. Wii gets fu----ed as per usual.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
