EVERYONE ITS NOT REAL NUMBERS

http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=3104

They took the preview data from VGC...

Big deal about unofficial numbers.

those are official numbers.

Proof? The link themselves say its preliminary. Its obvious they copied from VGChartz and didn't provide a link.

End of 2011 (made 02/01/11)
Wii: 99.453 m
Xbox 360: 67.837 m
Ps 3: 60.726 m

Best Games/Serie of the Generation

Well in Japan, it's kind of reverse of what people have thought of 360 in the U.S. Over there, the 360 is JRPG-box, not shooter-box. So in that way, it kinda makes sense. The vast majority of those 360s have moved when Tales and IU and Star Ocean and Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey came out. And that's all they've really bought.

So it's not THAT surprising to me.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

whats with all the "how is this a surprise" posts? who the hell ever said it was? too many fanboys these days. cant everyone just talk about the sales instead of getting all hurt because of the thread title saying "blew out 360 version".

So its ok when 95% of other multiplats release and the 360 sells more. Ppl should make redundant threads like these???

not that big of a deal the PS3 install base is alot bigger so that takes most of the difference into account. And who knows how many 360 owners are either PS3 owners and bought it for JRPGs. Anyways good sales PS3

Long Live SHIO!

I remember reading a website (maybe kotaku) suggesting that the Japanese PS3 and 360 RE5 sales during the first day was "virtually tied."

It's a large gap but it's not that huge of a gap.

4 ≈ One

... expected??? we should wait for final WW sales

Nice find, but if I understand correctly you post this to prove the ratio for RE5 sales PS3vs360 in Japan is "normal" or "expected"?

Yes, it's pretty much normal, or slightly in favor of the typical PS3/X360 ratio (which is around a 6.6/1 ratio). There are 3-4 ways you can look at the debuts of varous games. Some have done better (GTAIV), some have done much worse (Dynasty Warriors 6).

So a 2:1 ratio would have been "normal", and a 8:1 ratio would have been "normal" as well.  Good.

Curious how some people here take software sales personally.  It's like some don't even want to see things and just quickly move on.  Considering installed base, the ratio for RE5 is high in favour of PS3.  That would be something nice to discuss on this site, instead some refuse to discuss it because somehow it hurts.
