Given the state of the economy I don't think Sony will sell more than 10 million this year. I predict 15 million in 2010 and 15-20 million in 2011. Not this year however.

Anyway, next week, MLB 09 The Show's lasting boost together with Killzone 2 will push the PS3 up to 400k for the week, outselling the Wii, and 360 sales will fall into the 20-30k range due to potential 360 owners picking up the PS3.

PS3 should finish this year on 45 million, with boost from FF13, GT5, God of War III, the better Tekken 5 version, and price cut.

I decided to make a comparison between PS3 numbers of 2008 and PS3 numbers of 2009, because:

2) In 2008 were released BIG games like MGS4, RESISTANCE 2, AND GTAIV . Games like KILLZOWNED and RE:5 and FFXIII and GT5 are in year 2009 launch window <-- WOW AWESOME LINEUP

3) THis yyear PS3 will sell near 20 million. YES, 20 million. Why?? Because it has GAMES, and LOW PRICE soon, waitfor E3 announcement. SONY will completly dominate E3 with SUPERB games

Analysis : PS3 still has FFXIII and GT5 left to boost sales instantly by 10 million, so no worries =))

 

The last line here- are you Crazzyman? WTH? Are you serious? There is no way those games would even boost PS3 by 2 million sales let alone by 10 million sales.

FFXIII is coming to the X360 and will sell more on X360.  GT5?  Well exclusive games do not make much of an impact to hardware sales after 2 years from launch. Gran Turismo is no longer as popular as it was back in PS2 days a console that sold 140 million and was reasonably priced unlike the PS3.

So PS3 has two big games left that is all. It may have some other good games but nothing as big as FFXIII and GT5 in terms of popularity. Good luck PS3 in breaking 50 million console sales ltd. The good standout third party exclusives are multi-platform and they sell better on X360.
