I decided to make a comparison between PS3 numbers of 2008 and PS3 numbers of 2009, because:
1) 2008 is first year, when PS3 will be selling WW for FULL year - 2009 is the new FULL year, because it still hasn't reached mass market price, so 2008 doesn't count
2) In 2008 were released BIG games like MGS4, RESISTANCE 2, AND GTAIV . Games like KILLZOWNED and RE:5 and FFXIII and GT5 are in year 2009 launch window <-- WOW AWESOME LINEUP

3) THis yyear PS3 will sell near 20 million. YES, 20 million. Why?? Because it has GAMES, and LOW PRICE soon, waitfor E3 announcement. SONY will completly dominate E3 with SUPERB games

Analysis : PS3 still has FFXIII and GT5 left to boost sales instantly by 10 million, so no worries =))

 

The last line here- are you Crazzyman? WTH? Are you serious? There is no way those games would even boost PS3 by 2 million sales let alone by 10 million sales.

FFXIII is coming to the X360 and will sell more on X360.  GT5?  Well exclusive games do not make much of an impact to hardware sales after 2 years from launch. Gran Turismo is no longer as popular as it was back in PS2 days a console that sold 140 million and was reasonably priced unlike the PS3.

So PS3 has two big games left that is all. It may have some other good games but nothing as big as FFXIII and GT5 in terms of popularity. Good luck PS3 in breaking 50 million console sales ltd. The good standout third party exclusives are multi-platform and they sell better on X360.

i see your posts and i know you dont like ps3, hey no problem, everyone has their opinions and stuff and thats ok but saying FFXIII WILL sell more on 360 is just plain stupid whenn you know it aint! not when japan is on ps3's side! you have no idea what things will look like when the game finally releases outside of japan. i really doubt the 360 version is going to make up that couple of million over the ps3 version that it gets from japan! most games dont even outsell the ps3 version 2 to 1 in america these days never mind millions!

PS3's 15% Fall in YoY sales in 3rd year traditionally the peak sales year of a console is a very bad sign.

Gran Turismo 5 will boost hardware similar to GTA IV, MGS 4 and Killzone 2 and countless other HD exclusive games before them.
Anyone who believes GT5 and FFXIII will release this year. Well we do not have any release dates on those games yet and that means they will not be released in 2009. Try again in 2010 they might both appear in 2010.

PS3 price cut is also unlikely in 2009 due to the disastrous state of the economy and losses on foreign exchange rates due to hyperinflation of Japanese Yen will have a say in determining whether or not there will be a PS3 price cut in 2009. Wii console prices have been increased in European regions to offset losses made on European currencies due to the high Japanese Yen.

Wii consoles are being increased and that is the market leader and Nintendo makes profits all the time, then that is not a good sign for PS3 price cuts in 2009. Sony are making huge losses ~ $3 billion in its gaming division in its last two years will also have a say in price cuts. 2009 without a price cut would see losses made in gaming division just like most other business in 2009 due to financial crisis.

To be serious for a second (damn you), WHAT?

How the hell will FFXIII sell more on 360 when the PS3 version has a 2 million lead from Japan? It'll be pretty much a tie in Europe, slight edge to the PS3 perhaps, America will go to the 360, but FF is bigger in Japan than it is in America.

Even if the 360 version of FF13 sold 2 million in America and the PS3 version sold 500k, the PS3 would still win overall. And the last FF game that sold 2 million in NA was Final Fantasy X, on the PS2's userbase of then around 50 million, I believe. A console that sold JRPGs.

FFXIII will be lucky to break 1 million sales in Japan. (1.2 million tops for that game)
2 million is pushing it and is unrealistic sales expectations.

Check out the thread I made about this, FFXIII will easily sell 2 million in Japan, it has a very good chance of making 1.6 - 1.9 million first week. You greatly under estimate the power of Final fantasy in Japan.

not really... the console is closing on 2 years without a pricecut. traditionally that doesnt happen. if this gen teaches you anythin it should be traditions change
