Forums - Website Topics - should i get a 360 elite or hold out for a ps3

It comes down to games. Which console has the most games on that you enjoy? Once you have made that decision, buy that console. All of the other stuff is inconsequential. I like JRPGs, Western RPGS, sports games, racing games, and multiplayer games. The 360 has more of those games that I like and its cheaper to boot, that is why I chose it. So just sit down and figure out which genres you like best , then look at both the PS3 and 360 lineups. Which ever system has the most of those games is the one you should own.

If price isnt an issue the PS3 is an easy winner. Especially considering you enjoy HD content. (blu ray is sweet!)

This crap about the PS3's library is starting to rub me the wrong way. It is backwards compatiable, meaning in can play PS2 games. Meaning it has a "library" that dwarves both the 360 and Wii. So add all these games, except GH2, to the Playstation exclusive list. The Wii and 360 sure cant play these killer games!

Guitar Hero 2
GH2 EXPANSION (PS2/PS3 exclusive)
Okami
Odin Sphere
God of War 1/2
FF XII
Bully

And the PS3 is not in as bad a shape with games as some would have you believe. Motorstorm is huge in Europe, Oblivion is better on PS3 then on the box, Resistance is brilliant, and more great games are just around the corner. Warhawk, Lair, Haze, Unreal Tournament 3, Gran Toursimo 5, HOME, HSG5, Ratchet & Clank, Folklore, etc !!!

Well I can declare myself a Xbox 360 owner today, yesturday I purchased a Xbox 360 Pro Edition which had the HDMI port in the back. So I got the new Xbox 360!!!! My purchase was no other than Madden NFL 08, so freaking tight I can't get off of it!!! I'm still going to purchase a PS3, but 360 is what I got and I love it!!!

Congrats on the new Pro model. Enjoy it! Alot of the older hits are cheap now, so dont forget about those (I just picked up Dead Rising for 30$ US and its awesome).

Maybe he already owns a PS2. Besides, he wants HD gaming. Not last gen gaming <fanboy>he'salreadygotthewiiforlastgengaming</fanboy>

To cash in my CC rewards points for $300 in Circuit City gift cards to purchase a 360 or not: That is the question.

Thanks its good to be a part of the Xbox 360 family, but yea I saw in EB Games/Gamestop, they had Perfect Dark for $14.99, and Call of Duty 3 for $24.99. Not surprise that Gears of War is still $54.99 though....lol. But my next purchase will be Bioshock, and Dead Rising the game your PLAYING!!!!! is it tight??

@ceres:
Turning fanboy on and off is a neat trick.

{fanboy start}Well if he wants HD gaming might aswell go with PS3 its got Blu-ray{fanboy end}
Thats a neat trick.

Anyway dgm6780 is right if he doesnt have a PS2 then the PS3 game library is by far the biggest because PS2 is still goin strong and has many great titles.

End of 2014 Hardware Predictions (03/03/14)

PlayStation 4: 12-15million

Xbox One: 7-10 million

Wii U: 8-9 million (Changed 01/04/2014 from 7-9 --> 8-9 million)

Like so many have already stated get the 360 now and get the PS3 later when it has better games. These people are saying games like: Oblivion, Stranglehold, Haze, UT3, etc... those are all on or going to be on 360 as well.

Edit: Hey Takashii, maybe we can get a game of Uno sometime. I have all the decks!

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Yo sure man, whats your gamer tag mines is Escort29. Just add me or I will add you vice-versa. k?

I've already been labeled a fanboy in this post, but if you buy a 360 now, you don't have to wait for any games to come out to play it. Also, before anyone says Heavenly Sword is going to be a great game, play the demo. Its a button masher. Motorstorm is a joke as well. RFOM is good, but not as good as Gears or even COD.

I don't have any friends with a PS3 so just based on the chit chat I expected it to be better then the 360. Its not. If you have friends with both systems just test it out. From the menus to the games, the PS3 is just clunky and lacking.

I've got it all set up on a $15,000+ Home theater so small differences in quality are very noticable. I bought it because the money was eating a hole in my pocket, but I was very disappointed. I now know why there a piles of used PS3's for sale at my local Gamestop.
