LOL?

The Wii will NEVER reach 65% market share.

And it was never supposed to reach 50% market share which it will soon. never say never..

You do realise to reach 66% market share the Wii has to double 360 and PS3 combined sales.

If the 360 and PS3 were pulled from the shelves today, the Wii would have to sell about 90M to get 65% market share.

I am not saying it will I am just saying you never (oops there it comes again :P) know. 65 seems a bit high for it to reach in 2009 though. Now I am not good at math but it will probably do 55% at the end of 2009. and naw i have 1000posts :D

If you insist, I will never say never again :P

I think 55% is also to high. Unless Nintendo has insane supply, I can't see the Wii going much higher than 52% by the end of 2009.

Congrats on the 1,000 posts

cool ;)

Only time will tell :)

And thanks :D hehe I am not a noob anymore... lol

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

I'm guessing this:

Wii: 70 million
360: 37 million
PS3: 27 million

wii- 60 mil
ps3 (with price cut)- 37 mil
360 - 40 mil

Even ignoring the outlandishness of the PS3 and 360 predictions, your Wii prediction is insane, it'll be around 46 million by end of year, and will defintely sell more than 14 million next year

And your minimum level for the 360 being 3 million next year doesn't seem outlandish to you?  It sold over 10 million this year, part of that at a higher price point, and you seem to feel that sales are going to plummit for it next year?  Possibly to 3 million?  That seems far more outlandish to me actually.

No, its less outlandish to see the 360 selling only 3 million as a low end of a range than to have the Wii sell only 14 million, Wii can do that in a matter of a few weeks with enough stock

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Wii - 78 million
360 - 38 million
PS3 - 30 million

Yeah it will, you see the 360 and PS3 will never get beyond 80 million combined, meaning Wii will only need 148 million to have 65% marketshare, it will get that easily

Wii who the fuck knows

360 could be up to 40 million

PS3 is hard to tell. Might not be a price cut, if Sony starts making money on PS3 in 2009 they might be inclined not to drop the price.

Wii: 68 m
X360: 40 m
Ps3: 27-32 (without/with pricecut) m

End of 2011 (made 02/01/11)
Wii: 99.453 m
Xbox 360: 67.837 m
Ps 3: 60.726 m

I see the long break hasn't changed you much

VGC number for end of year 2008 (including week ending 3d Jan) will have the X360 at 27.5 mill, the PS3 at 19.5 mill and Wii at 45.5 mill.

I feel though that VGC has over-tracked all 3 consoles, and that adjusted after shipment figures will be:

X360: 26.5 mill (=10.5 mill sold in 2008)
PS3: 18.5 mill (9.5 mill sold)
Wii: 44 mill (24.5 mill sold)

Therefore I perdict for 2009:

X360: 36.5 mill (+10 mill)
PS3: 30.5 mill (+12 mill)
Wii: 69 mill (+25 mill)

Note: Im assumin a big price cut $100 on the PS3 in March, followed by a small $50 on the X360. This will severly hurt X360's momentum and bring the PS3 back in the game.
