So as you can see the 360 and PS3 had the same amount of games with scores above 80% this year.

But the killer blow to this argument?
If you drop to games of a score above 70% you get
360 = 94 games
PS3 = 80 games

Proving the IGN article shows how awful their reviews are score wise.

GT is the biggest troll when it comes to wii,,,they always refer to it as a toy indtead of gaming machine,,,they troll  openly when it comes to wii.

With only 20 games seperating the Wii and the Xbox 360 in the "Good" 7.5+ range shows a good sign for the Wii library next year. It looks like significant improvement.

56 360 reviews and 103 more wii reviews offcourse there is a BIGGER CHANCE OF SHOVELWARE. Plus everyone knows Wii is a shovelware house. Doesn't take a genius.

To be fair they should of all done the same amount of reviews. 360s top 165 and wiis top 165. Then done a comparison.

I'm not going to say their conclusion is wrong, as I don't own all 3 consoles, and am thus unable to do so. What I am going to say though, is that that was bullshit.

Why is it important for the Ps3 to have a higher % of the total released games, that appeal to IGN? As long as it had more, that should be enough.

The entire % of the total games is just meaningless, as it proves nothing really. Well, it proves what every non-retard knows... Higher userbase = lower % of good games compared to total games.

Want an example?

% of GC games = 9.0 + (IGN) ~ 10%

% of Ps2 games = 9.0 + (IGN) ~ 7%

Does this mean that the GC had more 9.0 + games? Nope. It had ~ 50, the Ps2 had ~ 140.

So the entire % thing is bullocks.

The score average suffers from the same thing, so that's meaningless too.

Why anybody cares about the number of games reviewed is odd too.

As for the pure how many scored 7.5 +, 8.5 + and 9.0... I don't care about that, but if you trust review scores in the first place - that's what you should care about. Those 3 graphs, the rest is just meaningless.

This is also IGN Australia, which has been praising the PS3 a lot this year so it's to be expected really. This was a good year for the PS3 overall and both consoles improved tons over last years lineup which was really barren for good titles... last year when this same game review score vs Wii came up it was them twisting numbers around to get it to be % of games released on console with 7.5+ review score which quality and quantity wise Wii was stomping both consoles. This year started out great for the Wii and much better then the crap being peddled Q1 and Q2 for the HD consoles but then Wii's year looked horrible cause they didn't end strong like the HD consoles did even though this year Wii still has the 3 of the best games with the only things competing being LBP, L4D and MGS4
