You are forgetting things like LBP ,Resistance 2 ,Valkyrie of the Battlefield ,Wipeout HD ,Fable II and Gears of War 2..........

To be honest the J man is not big on online games but rpg and online rpg arent really compared to each other alot.Not to say that they are bad but there in another ballpark in what it offers. Oblivion won rpg of the year before the witcher and we know ff 13 is going to be great but yeah your right on one thing diablo 3 has a chance to be better than both these games. The J man honestly wasnt thinking about pc gaming in this thread maybe because pc already has alot of exclusives and those exclusives are alot better than stuff thats for pc and consoles. But with regards to this thread the J man is only talking about the console side but thanks anyway.
N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

your right for the most part about RPG's but for shooters:
Sony: Resistance, Killzone, SOCOM, Metal Gear Solid, Uncharted
M$: Gears of War, Halo. And M$ has Fable and Mass Effect for RPG's.

Gears is still a shooter regardless and so is resistance but valve and cod 4 blow them both out of the water. There good games dont get the J man wrong but there are far from better than what valve offers.
You could compare ratchet to portal and we both know which game is better.
MGS4 is only the best in the stealth genre because its the only stealth game this gen (the J man thinks). But to say it has no competition this gen is a little too much. You cant honestly say mgs 4 is better than bioshock or fallout 3 or oblivion or the orange box or Mass effect. The J man knows you love the game and that it might be your favourite game but to say it has no competition is far to strong. In the j mans opinion there are better games out there , a few though.

Every year, Nintendo is the company with the highest average metacritic score, and at least last year Sony was the most reliable (ie the highest score for their lowest rated game)

Uh, yes you can...but that is third party as well, even though it is (and always will be) exclusive

Umm portal and ratchet are both platformers/shooters/puzzlers except portal puts emphasis on the puzzle and ratchet on the platforming and shooting. Fable and motorstorm?
