I'm holding off until I see what games come out for it, what the homebrew community can do with it, and whether or not they come out with a fully NEW model sometime later.
This just doesn't feel like a properly thought out increment. It feels like the DS lite v1.5, not the DS lite v2.0. If they were going to remove the GBA slot, you'd think they would at least have added built in rumble.

Right now, the no GBA slot is a huge thing, but makes sense to not include it. The DS could never play GB or GBC games, so if you wanted to play those, you needed a normal GBA or GBA SP or a GBC to play them. The more likely one to get would be the GBA, so if you've got that, you don't need the DS to play any of the GBA games at all. Nintendo is also trying to make the DS a completely separate entity from the Gameboy brand, removing GBA slot from it would be part of that move.

I've been waiting for them to announce a redesign. If my wallet can support another console I'll be getting one.

My question is when are they going to announce a new Game Boy? They seem like they can't figure out what they want the DS to be with this announcement. I hope they aren't done with the Game boy line.

I'll wait until they announce other dsi colours like blue or green.
