So you've got women hands? Busted!

My body and hand size is probably a bit above the average NBA basketball player.

You only like the dualshock controller because it has a playstation logo stamped on it =/

Nah, the logo could have been done better.

As I said I am a physical therapist as well as a gamer. From my perspective looking at the normal range of motion of the thumb (MLPP) the playstation lay-out makes more sense. Apart from this, I think it feels weird for many kinds of games to not have both sticks side by side.

But they will not admit that 360 has a bigger more varied multicultural library.

I have not heard of anyone disputing the 360's games library is bigger. Sounds a bit strange as you can easily count them. The 360 has had a year headstart afterall and nearly all the big XBox games have seen 360 sequels, so it's IMO not very surprising.

Game preferences is another topic. Not everyone buys all the games out there for a platform, people may well be satisfied with a just a handful of games per year like for example Singstar, MGS4, GTA IV, Uncharted, etc and may well reason quality above quantity.

What I did hear from a lot of Playstation supporters is that they often far more anticipate the PS3 games line-up. Games only to hit the PS3 exclusively.

It seems to be the case based on VGChartz data.

After 1 year and 3 months on the market the PS3 attach rate in "Others" is about 3.28 games.

After 2 years and 8 months (or more) on the market the 360 attach rate in "Others" is about 2.94.

So it seems people on average buy about 4-5 games on average per year for the PS3. New users will of course on average have a smaller games library than those who owned their console for a longer period of time.

What I am saying it's often more interesting to people to have a few games they truly love, than having many titles available that are OK but appeal less to them. If you want Halo 3 the 360 is the console to get, if you want MGS4 the only choice is to get a PS3.

MikeB - Too bad there are so many PAL games missing from the 360 data, that you can't actually use their data as proper, whereas there are far more PS3 games on the database due to the PAL lists being up for a shorter timeframe, favoring newer releases and systems.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Mine finally came, I like it

As machina says great box, and it all looks really nice, though the console does feel a little cheaper than the PS3. Very simple and nice set up. The blades are different from XMB, and while I find the XMB more easy to use, the blades do look nicer.

My only impression in games is Ace Combat 6, which I do think is awesome, though I am struggling to read much of the text because it is on an SDTV. I have GeoW, LO and ME still to play, so I should get to playing those quite soon.

As for the controller, it does feel slightly odd coming from a PS3, but it is good. The market place is excellent, it is very simple and fast

i like the 360s controller a little bit better than the ps3s but its a close call

@ mrstickball

Why is that?

But even if software tracking for both platforms covers a similar timespan, according to VGChartz more PS3 software was sold amongst its assumed smaller install base.

VGChartz NA data also suggests attach rates of games sold per user per year between 360 and PS3 is also about on par.

the ps3 sixaxis or the dualshock3, both to me are cheaply made and the layout of the sticks are just wrong. they dont feel natural at all, where as the xbox 360 feels so comfortable and natural to me anyway. the layout for the xbox 360 is just perfect for fps. i love the dashboard compared to xmb of the ps3, i also like being able to change the look of the xbox 360, like putting on a different faceplate. having a blu-ray player in the ps3 is a nice feature if you really want a high-def movie player, i have about 30 movies on blu-ray i would have alot more if the price would be lower but paying $30 or $35 for a movie, with nothing but a slightly better picture, just doesnt make the price worth it. the ps3 is a great system and has alot of great features and future games, as well as great games out now like uncharted:drakes fortune and rachet & clank: future tools of destruction. the xbox 360 has alot of great features and games as well, which other system you have has alot of great things going for it and hope you enjoy it. i have all 3 systems and love them all.

But as soon as I move in that direction I'm drawn back to the PS3's future exclusives which appeal to me more than the 360 line-up and the introduction of additional features (Home and maybe trophies) as well as its use as a Blu-ray player and .AVI player.

The unknown always has greater potential and garners greater excitement than the present.  Games are much more heavily wanted and anticipated by core gamers before they're released.   Once a game comes out, people see the short comings but before the game is released it is potentially the best in whatever set of ways and potentially unlimited.

Dreaming for the future is a mistake.  Play for the present, and when games come out, get excited about them then.

@ Goddbless

Why not just connect it to a USB port when done gaming if the battery charge is getting low, like you would do with a wireless phone or iPod?

Anyway I have a normal and mini-USB cable port extended from my PC on the top of my desk (to easily plug in my photo camera, MP3 player or memory stick). It's really a non-issue for me.

I'm not as big of a fan of the PS3 approach the battery in the Sixaxis.  I sit rather far away from my TV and entertainment system so connecting a cable to it is problematic so when the PS3 controller is running low, that is the signal for me to stop playing.  I use the battery packs for the 360 controllers so I just put one in the charger when the other is in use.  In retrospect, I should have just bought the cheaper AA rechargeables and done the same thing and would have been able to swap them with the GH3 controller and Wiimotes (when I get a Wii), but it still works great.  I prefer the swapable batteries because I never have to go without a wireless controller.

It is nice that I can send the Sixaxis back to Sony if the battery dies, but that also means I am without a controller while I'm waiting.  Again, not a big fan of the idea.

I give this thread a 9.8.
