Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Direct (Sept 2026): Expectations & Wishes

By the way, the Pikmin 4 Switch 2 edition was really cool. But is it running at 30fps? It looked like it to me, which would be a bummer (my stream said 1440p60, so I guess it was not Youtube).

They uploaded the trailer in 60fps, but the gameplay shown is definitely running at 30fps. Not sure why they wouldn't improve the framerate as they have with most of their updates.

Metroid Ravenous saved this Direct from being completely terrible.

Signature goes here!

Kirby looks pretty fun, got a 3D Dot Game Heroes throwback when he gets the sword power making it huge and hitting stuff in the map lol

Big time.  A whole lot of nothing, otherwise.

IDK about you guys but I’m pumped for Star Fox Adventures coming to NSO! Literally just started the remake last weekend, and had been thinking about emulating Adventures on PC.

Lots of cool announcements. I know my bro will be happy to see KCD2:Royal Edition. I’ll need to see a bit more from Pikmin 4 NS2 Edition. Hoping it’ll receive a 60FPS boost. Ravenous I’ll also need to see more of— looks like it has a lot of potential! But yeah, this is literally exactly what I predicted, is it not? Lol. May also cancel my preorder for FE and get NSSR instead. That looks like a game I’d have a lot more fun with TBH.

Hope you enjoy it! Don't get sidetracked by the negative discourse around the game. When it released it was very well received, it was only years, even decades later that YouTubers and critics made it seem like the game wasn't liked because "it wasn't a proper Star Fox game" and "Krystal gets sexualized!" Enjoy the game for what it is!

Back on topic: There were rumors that a new Starfox Adventures games was in development, which would be awesome. Now I'm torn: Is this adding weight to the rumors because them releasing Adventures on NSO shows their commitment to the franchise? Or were the rumors simply wrong and what the leakers heard of was the SFA re-release on NSO?

Starfox Adventures is a gorgeous game even now but man it's mediocre and the general scales *fight* reeks of we ran out of budget and time. Same with Andross being shoehorned into it. But I will never not praise that games visuals. Some of the best lighting effects that generation.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Spoiler!
Yep. Star Fox Adventures sequel rumors seem to be heavily corroborated (link leads to a Reddit thread "Everything on the rumored "adventure" Star Fox game, Part II (Massive write-up)" from r/starfox). Malo has a perfect track record so far. Many of his claims were consistent with NateTheHate's big leak back in Spring, and were in fact given prior to Nate. That said, I don't believe SFAdventures coming to NSO is what Malo was referring to. It's a similar situation to Nate leaking Pikmin 4 NS2 Edition, and then we proceeded to get free Pikmin 3 & 4 updates throughout the year; same deal with Fitness Boxing 3 seeming to be the Switch Sports game Nate had leaked, only for it to actually be Switch Sports Resort. I think Nintendo knows about these leaks and does these stunts so as to create this ambiguity among fans... that or they are simply trying to pump up IP prior to big reveals/releases. Probably the latter in all honesty lol.

Also this won't be my first time playing Adventures. This game is actually one of the "big five" I grew up playing (Pikmin 1, Smash Bros Melee, Luigi's Mansion, SSX Tricky, Star Fox Adventures). This will be my first time revisiting it since my childhood though so I am super curious to see if the game is as I remembered it.

I think that Nintendo is taking so long to reveal a new 3D Mario because it will be an open world game and, because of that, it is taking years to be developed. It seems like after Breath of the Wild's huge success, the company wants to shove open world into every S-tier franchise they have. But I gotta ask: Did we really need an open world Mario Kart? Did we really need an open world Pokémon game (I know this is on TPC account)? Do we really need an open world Mario game?

Kinda tangental to your point, but... Anybody who thought 3D Mario would be revealed today is crazy. Again, 3D Mario is coming holiday 2027. We know this from virtually all leaks which have proven accurate so far (including NateTheHate). Why would Nintendo, a company who has no release dates announced beyond February 2027, unveil their big 2027 release a whole 12+ months in advance? Ocarina of Time and MarioKart World were only teasers up until two months prior to launch, Donkey Kong Bananza was a complete mystery up until three months prior to its launch, and so on.

3D Mario will almost certainly be saved for an early 2027 or Summer 2027 Direct (and being that Nintendo likes to hold their cards close to their chest with all the price hikes they need to consider, I'd imagine 3D Mario will remain only as a teaser up until late-2027).

Whether the game gets revealed now or in June, it'll still be releasing in Holiday 2027. Everyone’s just gotta be patient.

(But man am I excited to see that game when it does get revealed… ooooh man I’m thrilled!)
