The Direct was absolutely terrible and filled with things we already knew and/or very minor reveals. Thank God for Metroid Ravenous, because that was fucking sick.

My rest of the year: Witcher 3, 3 Resident Evils, Ocarina of Time, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade 3 Definitive Edition, Lego Batman, and 007 First Light. I'm happy with that.
First-Party 2027 games so far - Xenoblade Genesis, Kirby Open World, Metroid All You Can Eat Buffet, and Pokemon We Finally Figured Out What Textures and Lighting Are. Not a bad lineup to start with, though they'll need a lot more.

3 non-Mario 3D platformers by Nintendo will have released at least by time we get 3D Mario. Either there are a lot of development troubles, no work was done during Bananza, or an unusually laidback slow-paced atmosphere.
Other characters are getting a shot, but that means a long wait for 3D Mario.

That was fine I guess with a weak 1st half and decent 2nd half but the lack of any megaton announcements is really starting to sting a bit considering MKW will be 1.5 years old soon. The next Direct really needs a 3D Mario level announcement. In general people will probably need to get used to Switch 2 era Directs being weaker on average first party wise than Switch 1 era Directs. The much better third party support will help make up for that for people who primarily game on a Switch 2 but that'll be tough for people who mainly play Nintendo games on Nintendo consoles.
I'm happy because I can play Persona 4 remake and Persona 6 on Switch 2. At this point, instead of being excited for a third party port I'm annoyed when a game isn't coming lol so this is good news. Still waiting for Clair Obscure.
Metroid looks great, Kirby is at least interesting, and I will probably double dip on Resident Evil 4 Remake. I'm interested in Monster Hunter, but still on the fence. And I caved and pre-ordered the OoT remake, oh god.
Edit: Oh yeah, and the Mario Kart World update is nice. Although I would've preferred newer tracks and not SNES ones.
Why no mention of Call of Duty? Sure it's old news, but that's par for the course and it would only make sense to advertise Call of Duty's return to Nintendo as much as possible.
By the way, the Pikmin 4 Switch 2 edition was really cool. But is it running at 30fps? It looked like it to me, which would be a bummer (my stream said 1440p60, so I guess it was not Youtube).

Wonder if MS isn't wanting their games in other people's shows ATM. Like how they apparently pulled Halo from the June state of play at the last minute, and recently have started hiding platforms again by not showing others logos in their trailers. >.>
