| CourageTCD said: I think that Nintendo is taking so long to reveal a new 3D Mario because it will be an open world game and, because of that, it is taking years to be developed. It seems like after Breath of the Wild's huge success, the company wants to shove open world into every S-tier franchise they have. But I gotta ask: Did we really need an open world Mario Kart? Did we really need an open world Pokémon game (I know this is on TPC account)? Do we really need an open world Mario game? |
Kinda tangental to your point, but... Anybody who thought 3D Mario would be revealed today is crazy. Again, 3D Mario is coming holiday 2027. We know this from virtually all leaks which have proven accurate so far (including NateTheHate). Why would Nintendo, a company who has no release dates announced beyond February 2027, unveil their big 2027 release a whole 12+ months in advance? Ocarina of Time and MarioKart World were only teasers up until two months prior to launch, Donkey Kong Bananza was a complete mystery up until three months prior to its launch, and so on.
3D Mario will almost certainly be saved for an early 2027 or Summer 2027 Direct (and being that Nintendo likes to hold their cards close to their chest with all the price hikes they need to consider, I'd imagine 3D Mario will remain only as a teaser up until late-2027).
Whether the game gets revealed now or in June, it'll still be releasing in Holiday 2027. Everyone’s just gotta be patient.
(But man am I excited to see that game when it does get revealed… ooooh man I’m thrilled!)
