Look at American farmers and ranchers. He’s another big city slickster who is completely out of touch with them and is destroying American agriculture with his tariffs and incompetent handling of the screwworm issue. They complain about him “betraying” them with meat imports, but I would bet money that they would vote for him again if they could. Most of them already voted for him three times despite the damage he did in his first term with the China trade war. 

Tariffs implemented like this is really just an extra tax. So he gets some much needed tax income while being able to claim that he’s not raising taxes. It’s a pretty good deal for him.

The key word being, HE gets some tax income. 

Endless reasons to increase price is everything that gaming needs right now.

The Orange Clown has 29 months left in his term (and the day he's out of office can't come soon enough). A Dem-controlled Congress would hamper Trump's ability to do much of anything. He'd be a lame duck at that point, like Dubya after the 2006 midterms. I also say that if the Dems retake the Senate in 2026 and keep it and also win the White House in 2028, they should go for broke and nuke the filibuster. Fuck it. Let it ride. Push through every reform they can.

End the pointless trade wars. Implement Medicare-for-All. Ban all new "A.I." data centers and go after the companies for copyright violations and investigate them on how their TTI and TTV models can generate CSAM (I'd even go so far as to say they should ban generative "A.I." as commercial product; treat it as an existential threat to society, which it is). Ban gerrymandering, preferably by implementing proportional representation. Make ranked-choice voting the norm for Senate and presidential contests. Raise taxes on the wealthy. Rebuild the government agencies Trump wrecked or shut down. Expand the SCOTUS and implement term limits for justices. Make DC and Puerto Rico states. Recognize Palestine as a sovereign state and force an end to the genocide (hopefully by 2028 there's enough progressive or otherwise sympathetic Dems in Congress to make this happen).

Let their policies stand on their own merits, and if the people like them (and most voters tend to side with progressives when asked about most specific policies, so long as it's framed honestly), then next time the GOP is in charge (because politics is a pendulum and sooner or later the Dems will be holding the ball during rough economic times and incumbents always take the blame regardless of whether they're culpable) the Dems can double dog dare the GOP to undo everything the American people like in favor of once again wrecking the country for profit and spite. "Go ahead. Piss off the people. Take away everything we gave them that they like and actually works for them and see how that'll work out for you." At the very least nobody will have the excuse of "The other party is being obstructionists."

The underlying assumption here is that voters care about policies. For many, I don't think that is the case. It is more about their fear of and hatred towards groups they perceive as different (all lumped into the amorphous category of woke or something similar so they don't have the say the quiet part out loud). 

If Trump is the problem, then the solution is simple: so, why don’t you Americans just do what Ukraine did to Yanukovych? There isn’t anything stopping you except yourselves.

Personally, I think the reason you don’t do that is because you know as well as everyone else that Trump is merely a symptom of a much deeper problem. The real cancer is the American right wing, which is not conservative, but instead a mix of fascists and reactionaries. Your own government spits out anti-intellectual propaganda, and they are cheered by these anti-intellectual people who put them in office. That’s the cancer you should be dealing with. You can’t just leave it to continue to fester.
