If you mean exclusives from sony? Then your right. If you ment overall then my ps3 vs ps4 collection says it. |
Even excluding sony exclusives, there was alot more third party classics, franchises

Maybe japanese games wins on the ps4, but western made far makes up the difference, and then more.

yeah there's more slop probably, not as many highly regarded games /good games

For me, it comes to say, for instance, PS3 had 3 full fledged Uncharted games whereas PS4 had 2 with one being more of an expansion, PS3 had three Bioshock games vs none on PS4, PS3 had three great Mass Effect games while PS4 had one bad one, three Resistance games vs none, 2 great Killzone games vs one mid one, etc.
Of course, PS4 did have some cool new IPs in its own right, like Horizon, Hellblade, and Shadow Warrior, but for me the PS3 edges it out overall.
Both great consoles though.

Capcom:
RE2R, RE4R, RE7, RE8, MHW, MHR, Iceborne, Sunbreak, SF5, SF6, DMC5. (Maybe I should mention RE3R too, since it sold over 10 million despite being mediocre).
SquareEnix:
FF7R, FF14 and expansions (only ARR and Heavensward were crossgen with PS3), DQ11, NieR Automata, TWEWY Neo, FF15, KH3.
From Software:
Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, Sekiro, Elden Ring, Armored Core 6.
Atlus:
Persona 5 (crossgen), P5R, SMT5V, Metaphor.
It's the standard opinion that Japanese developers struggled in the transition to HD, and "made a comeback" on PS4. If you think they were better on PS3, it's fine and you're entitled to your opinion. But saying there weren't as many highly regarded Japanese games on PS4 is delusional and goes against the consensus.
The best Japanese games in the PS3 era were spread out across multiple consoles and handhelds. PS3 by itself wasn't that good. One PS3 highlight though was that Platinum Games made 3 great games on it (including a terrible port made externally) vs just NieR Automata on PS4. Platinum prioritised Nintendo's platforms after PS3.

I never said there weren't as many as good japanese , i said of all the releases japanese, there was alot of slop between. Japanese probably did releases more better games, because some were hit and miss with the fans, but thats hard to say, because there were alot of single player classics that weren't a franchise and offered and didn't get sequels on ps3
But as i mentioned and will say again, if you include western exclusives, it definitely puts ps3 over.

PS3's OS is quite slow when connected to the internet and playing a game. It was fine/smooth offline from what I recall. |
Yeah it's quite fast now when using it for CD/DVD/Blu-Ray/stored media. Accessing the pop up UI from in a game or the store was terrible.
Was it WiiU with the half hour+ first time on patch? Was the worst unboxing experience.
