My only guess on no DLSS from Nintendo games. Nintendo is just a strange company. They only now allowing VRR on docked mode. So I think maybe they think with DLSS maybe the slight lag compromises the experience to users in their eyes. They are hyper conservative at times. It's silly to us but maybe they eventually warm up to the idea. Took them a while to warm up to DLC and other modern gaming standards.

Not all modern gaming standards are worth warming up to.

Ok so you want the game to look worse. Ok.

No, I meant certain modern gaming standards are bad, like using AI generated content (see Level 5) or voice chat (see Call of Duty).

I don't think DLSS is one of those modern things that's detrimental and best avoided.

Yeah, it can be misused, but it can also make games look significantly better.

That said, I don't see it's absence from Ocarina as a big deal. Sure, it would've been nice to have it, but I think it looks great regardless.

My guess is Nintendo doesn't use DLSS because maybe they don't want their games tied to a Nvidia specific algorithm, might make things tricky in the future if they ever were to go with someone else (AMD, Intel, whatever) in in the future. Either that or they simply haven't had the need to use it as the Switch 2 is simply powerful enough to just run whatever they throw at it natively.

So what part/area/etc are you guys most excited to revisit in the remake?

I'm most keen to see the Bottom of the Well, the Forest Temple, and the Fire Temple as those are the parts that stood out the most to me as a kid.

I'm hoping the scariest parts of the original (Dead Hand, ReDeads, Bottom of The Well, etc) stay terrifying, and they're not sanitized for today's younger gamers. Today's E to E10+ games play it too safe, no wonder today's kids are too soft.

Up until now, I have managed to only see the trailer alongside some promotional art (e.g. new Lizalfo designs) for the Ocarina Remake. Nothing else. No music besides whatever was in the trailer (which wow!! What a perfect recreation of the Hyrule Fields music. Gives me chills every time I listen.).

Crazy to think we're already so close to launch. It's late-September and the game releases at the start of November. Just a little over one month remains!

Yeah only a month and a half to go! I feel like I've waited decades for this one as I have deliberately not replayed Ocarina since like the 90s cos I knew someday they'd remake it and I wanted to experience that without feeling like "oh, I just played this, so I don't feel that interested."

That is a mindset I should copy. There are of course exceptions but many games that are popular get upgrades and rereleases.
