Forums - Gaming - The Insanely Packed Late September to Early October Release Schedule

So far, my interests in that scheduled are limited to Onimusha and Trails SC.

Around the Network

It's winter and spring which is looking busy for me.

Hey, good thing I'm only interested in Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter !

But yes, unintentionally a problem for most of these smaller-mid releases really. Some of them are likely to move up for later in October ...

And the funniest with GTA VI could still happen with a delay lol. See how most of them would scramble to get that November slate instead.

In the meantime, Nintendo's will most likely stick to its guns and most likely releases games in both October and November as per usual. Marching to their own beat

I’m pretty sure out of everything releasing in September, Wolverine is the one that should be least worried lol, if anything Control 2 should be pushed out as Remedy themselves have complained that their games don’t sell well enough.

What I worry about for Wolverine is that since the game will have such a strong overlap with the GTAVI crowd, it is possible sales and marketing will be completely eclipsed during the holiday rush for GTAVI. Initial sales will probably look solid, but I'm not sure if it'll be able to stay afloat. Again, this is a big budget production— I can't see this game cracking 10M LTD, not even with major price cuts. That's a problem.

It's similar to what happen to all of Nintendo first-party releases during Spring 2023 versus Tears of the Kingdom: Bayonetta Origins and Advanced Wars Remake completely bombed in large part due to being suffocated by Zelda. Even I remember looking forward to those two releases yet opting to skip because I wanted to save up for all my Zelda purchases.

Control is the only one I'm buying day one. Wolverine I'll get if it actually comes to PC.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Out of all that, I'll maybe get Control Resonant.

Gotta say, I do respect the balls Atari have going toe to toe with GTA6 when not even Sony or Activision dare.

I'd expect Wolverine to be ~9-11m by year end

They're not the only one. Devolver Digital has a mysterious game that they plan to launch the same day GTA6 goes on sale, and they've delayed it as many times as Rockstar has done with their game.

Mind you, it's likely to be a small, low effort title, but it's still something.
