Forums - Gaming - Saros - Slow Sales

You are talking about two different topics.

-The SAROS sales are slow that is true but if they break even or not is completely on Sony and their decision to assign a big budget to a game that is the spiritual successor of a game that didn't sold that much to begin with. Returnal sold 500k in its first 3 months and they knew it before acquiring the studio.

-The decision to leave pc goes beyond software sales on pc, it's about people buying a console and spending money inside that console. 12 extra M (assuming they sold Returnal at 60 on PC) are peanuts compared with the money they make from their consoles (only game related purchases, not even counting the console itself) thus the decision to leave money to protect huge money.

The term Roguelite instantly makes me turn the other way. I like bullet hell. I like third person shooters. I love Housemarque arcade like games from the PS4 era but the roguelite I despise. Then again I never even heard of this game until recently. If I did hear of it before it never registered. This game was just sorta out with no marketing.

Yeah I'm the same, Roguelikes/lites just aren't my thing and I instantly lose all interest when I see a game is one.

For me, procedurally generated game design just isn't that fun, nor is the repetition inherent in the genre or the fact you're expected to die/fail over and over again.

It's an article citing Alinea Analytics.

At this point, threads using this website should be closed.

I know that some anti Sony fanboys are quick to believe everything for spitting on PlayStation but they should be more patient and more serious. Waiting for official numbers.

It's too expensive. I'm not paying 80 euro for what is basically a AA game. Pragmata is at 60 and this seems equal if not less in some aspects. Ridiculous pricing and the industry is going to eat itself.

What the fuck, I just checked and it is $125 AUD here. ($90 USD)

Outrageous pricing.

I can't believe they think this is sustainable for people in current times. The damn physical copies are cheaper. Makes no sense.

I found a physical copy of Saros for 74.99. Five euro cheaper than the digital version and that's braking myself brain cause it should cost more to produce and the digital version should be cheaper. We're in backwards times.

Everything's worth what someone's willing to pay for it. We're in backwards times because people have been willing to support that.

^ I'm glad the sales are slow. I have no intention of playing it before deep sale anyway, there are better games in the genre for 5-10 euro even if they are more simple. Hopefully Sony will get the message that these more straight forward, smaller budget games should be priced like Helldivers 2 and the like. 80 euro, they've gone out of their minds and a global econonic depression looming.

Yeah, Bralod mentioned that as well.  Pricing does seem high for a Rogue like game.

Hopefully it has legs, I would hate to see another studio axed.
