Sony got a lot of backlash for PS4 CMOS battery thing that if it died all your games are worthless. Then Sony patched it where anything should work. Now they are reverting again?
Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Respectfully, it hasn't even been 24 hours since this update started making headlines. It'd be to your (and other's) benefit if you just waited just a sec. I don't know why the internet is always of an answer NOW(!!)... chill and be patient. We'll know what's up sooner or later. Definitely within the next 60 days, though much more likely before then.

I know! It's stupid to make the same mistake again.
From what I'm reading, some people think it's a bug when they made an update and others think it's an intentional change to prevent an exploit on the digital refunds.
Regardless of the reason, Sony should've clarified the situation already and just patch this out hopefully.

Really weird that it's been a few days now and there has been zero official clarification from Sony.
You'd think with such a potential PR mess they'd come out and clear things up.

Is boiling frog supposed to be an insult?
Ohhh, so the PlayStation DRM is to stop people buying a game, refunding it, then continuing to play it. Then after the refund window is up, the DRM goes away and you can continue to play offline. Makes sense. https://t.co/7u0YiZ7iZA
