With the Star Fox 64 remake being announced, are we expecting a similar scope for the OoT remake?

Star Fox seems to be a smaller budget title, I'm expecting Ocarina to be $70 and involve more gameplay redesign. I think the expectations for it are just higher, whereas star fox is more or less arcade.

Call it now: Ocarina of Time Remake is a faithful visual overhaul akin to SMRPG, TTYD, and Star Fox 64. I would never see Nintendo taking their creation and trying to redo it— that is not a very Nintendo thing to do.

Agreed.  I think people have their expectations way too high.

Isn't star Fox Zero and reimagining of the 64? This is what I've heard anyway.

I think it will be somewhere inbetween personally. I simply think 3rd person gameplay has evolved too much for them to keep it as it was but it will be faithful and not go too far off the beaten path of the OG

Based on what I have seen it is SF64 with added cut scenes and some extra MP modes.  Does not seem like a imagining to me.  The levels are 1 to 1 translations, just prettier, which makes it a Remake.

Are we both talking about Star Fox Zero? The Wii U game.

It's gameplay and design is very broadened but it seems based on 64, essentially a reimagining. This is also how it's described on Wiki.

I missed the Zero part.  I thought you were asking about SF on S2.

Thus, I am off base, ignore me.

An Ocarina remake with similar fidelity to the Starfox remake, a faithful art style, and some QoL tweaks would be both an amazing experience and a potential system seller given the original is one of the most beloved games of all time.

I'd buy that.

I prefer it honestly— why remake what’s already pretty much perfect? Roll it over with a fresh coat of 2026 paint, and…ooh that sounds awesome!! Again, that’s what I would’ve wanted back when I was new to gaming, so this would be especially great for those who are new to the hobby.

*I would hope they improve the combat with some of the more modern inventions from recent games like parrying.

*Add a third person perspective to arrow shooting (they can also keep first person). Broadly camera controls go without saying.

*Probably the most content relevant change would be to populate Hyrule field with more interest content, its very baron by modern standards.
